look for the body count to be high this off season for some of the longer standing members.
The following people either have movies or new series on the go, Fred Armison. Seth Myers, JASon Sudeikis, Keenen Thompson. Bobby Moynihan and a few others.
They usually announce the cast changes during the summer, but with Myers getting ready to step down as head writer they willl need a a new one and usually when head writers change--there is a large cast change over as well

GO SHARKS GO
He'll be missed, but, he has nothing else to prove on that show. He's had a great run, enough to be mentioned with some of the big names to have come through. I'm not sure if he'll be able to build a big movie career, but he's a guy that's always solid in supporting roles.
I expect Sudeikis to leave, which will be another blow, but, I think they have a pretty solid cast with the newer crew. The Kristin Wiig show demonstrated how the writers get tunnel vision when they have too many recurring characters to resort too. Letting the new guys bring new characters to the table will be good.
They need a couple of veterans on the show, so Armisen and Thompson will likely stick around, but, I'm hoping Lorne Michaels is telling both to start finding projects, because both should be making their exit next year.
Totally agree on Hader, far and way my favorite cast member of recent years. He is great in supporting roles and should have a nice career in movies.
I think Sudeikis would be great at Weekend Update, Id like to see him given a shot at that but likely he will be departing.
And Kristen Wiig started out so good on SNL but became an overbearing bore as the years wore on, no matter how unfunny a recurring character of hers was they still rammed it down our throats every week.
And I am not a big Seth Meyers fan, I think his leaving as head writer will be a vast improvement.
Anyone watch SNL tonight? I know it was just a season finale, but it felt a bit like a series finale to me with Bill Hader, Fred Armisen, Jason Sudeikis and Seth Meyers and all leaving (though Meyers' won't begin hosting the late night show until Feb '14). The last half of the show was such a bittersweet sendoff to these excellent cast members. Now I know many feel that SNL hasn't been great for a long time, but I've really enjoyed the past 8 years or so and the Show won't be the same next season.
It wasn't a bad episode today from what I caught (missed parts of the beginning watching OT). It had it's downswing after the Weekend Update (those meh girls selling purses, can they leave?), but a good finale. I am so gonna miss Stefon and the band thing (from the Margaret Thatcher skit) was neat.
Ben said thanks to Dave Matthews at the end, was he the dude with the long grey hair and glasses?
Also, only caught the 2nd Kanye performance but eh, he's gotta a bit too weird for me.

I love the "2 Ex Pornstars" skits, I think they're always good for some laughs at the end of the show. But hey, that's what's kind of great about SNL, they're going to have a great mixture of skits/sketches that will attract different humor. A "little bit of something for everyone" so to speak
It does seem like Fred is also leaving, and that the final sketch was more a "Goodbye" for him rather than Bill (who I always thought was way more talented than Fred) and even seeing Jason in that hug during the credits seems to indicate that he's leaving as well.
I hope this means more time for Taran Killam and Jay Pharaoh. I really thought after last year that Taran would have more on-screen time this year, but it seems they've scaled him back a bit, and Jay just flat out needs ALL of the characters Kenan plays...except for maybe Al Sharpton, I give Kenan credit on that one, he does well.
But Jay needs on the show more.
I'll tell you who I've been surprised by the last couple of years, Bobby Moynihan. I wasn't a fan when he first came onto the show, but over the last 2-3 seasons he's really sort of "come into his own" and has been a solid performer, even stealing sketches outright at times. But I've come to enjoy what he brings to the table.

Taran is AWESOME. Pharaoh is still more of an impersonator then a character actor at this point.
