I love how one of my buddies was talking **** Asham, he's trash, blah blah blah. Personally, I loved Asham when he was here. No one complained about him in our playoff run 2 years ago. Still like the guy, wish he didn't cheapshot Schenn there. I understand why he did it though.

As for Neal... emotions were running high. I mean, it is suspendable, I doubt it happens though. It is what it is. I'm not too upset by it. It seems Coots is ok, Giroux is fine. Oh, and the Flyers won that game. No injuries, so 1 game max. Fine at the minimum.

Coming from a Flyers fan, the game wasn't THAT dirty. You do what you have to do in hockey games, especially playoffs. Can't blame the Pens to resorting to physicality. Hell, the Flyers are based on that. In this day of hockey though, you have to be careful about your battles. And the Penguins chose the wrong battles.

he's not getting suspended

they're just waiting for Asham's stiff punishment to come out to lessen the butthurt whiners

I think they have a pool of "X" games worth of suspensions to give the Pens, and are having trouble figuring out how to divvy it up between all the culprits.

That, and I'd be shocked if Mr. Mario wasn't working the phones overtime...

I think Asham waived his right to an in-person hearing and it got moved to 5pm but with Backstrom's at 3pm me thinks that it must've overrun.

Well if Shaw got 3 games Neal probably gets LWOP and Asham gets the death penalty.

I think Neal's behavior was especially dispicable, head hunting guys with a history of concussion problems is just asinine.

Supplementary discipline for Neal should not be based on the result, but should be based on his intent to injure an opposing player(s).

No, Neal is a goal scorer so he will get the same treatment as Weber. 2500 per hit.

Asham is the martyr, yes to make the Flyer fan's happy... even tho Neal's hits were actually a lot worse than Schenn's sell job. Welcome to the era of Shanny.

All these blindside hits and cheapshots etc should be assessed on the intent to injure, irrespective of the situation.

Alas... the name on the back of the jersey is more often than not apparently the defining factor.

If it were a flyers player who threw those hits at crosbys head, you know for sure he'd be in heaaappppppssssss of trouble.

He's being suspended, I imagine that they're just debating for how long. There is probably a few people that are pushing for 20+ games, and then a few that think 3-10 is more reasonable.
