I would say this to Johansen if he's listening to this.
You got us this far. You played with the big boys and won. You are a #1 center in this league and proved it. The injury did not defeat you; it just slowed you for awhile. Don't lose the passion you showed during this great run. Keep it and when they talk about the elite centers in this league, they'll call out your name. Thank you for getting us this far and know that your fans won't let you down
Now, Go Preds, defeat the dirty Ducks.

Damn... I'm soo frustrated right now. Not angry but frustrated.

A few days ago I was thinking about how I will not be angry if we lose 3 in a row and lost the series 4-2 because would not be deserved to advance after 3 loses... BUT THIS>?! an injury... this kind of scenario is the worst thing ever! Forever in every one of us will be that ''IF'' if Johansen that, if Johansen this what would've happened...

It's not over till it's over. So let's believe in this team!

It's time for that guy to save the team!

...all this is another example of how important is to have depth in the middle. This team needs another elite top 6 C. Maybe the final piece of the puzzle this team to be a true Stanley Cup contender and win it all

NTM these Milwaukee kids beyond Aberg aren't gonna score or out skate the Ducks.

May as well play somebody who will make a difference with some physical play.
McLeod and Watson have already been playing and someone in the AHL thread said Bass is injured. Salomaki probably plays tonight. So who else are we not playing that you think needs to be in, and what makes you think they have been "taking it" all this time anyway? I believe we've been hitting pretty good out there we just got horribly unlucky on Johansen

They brought Bass up about a week ago and he hasn't played. Not sure how he became "hurt".

It's easy, I'd play Bass and Bitetto. I think the Ducks know that they win by banging and cheap shots, and they'll be amped up to do that tonight. If our 2 guys who are capable, can handle their 6-8 guys who bring it...... fabulous. This just defies the laws of physics.

Preds have the better young talent, D, and G. But all 3 can be beat by 60 minutes of thuggery. If you don't try to counter it, only survive it.

Salomaki will just be one more guy to punch and slash, which won't get called.

Seemed like your post worked w/ Wilson showing up and scoring on the PP.

So, what's the latest on Aberg's face ? Hope it's not broken. Is it Manson that hurt Aberg, Fisher, and Johansen ?

Boy, Mcleod and Watson could really use some help against Manson, Boll, Bieksa, Thompson, Kessler, Getzlaf, Siverberg, Perry. Even Richie tried to KO Eckholm.

We're blessed to likely be going to the Cup Finals. But we don't need to be getting a major injury almost every game. Playing a dirty team, turning the other cheek is not gonna work long term.

Pacifists are very generous with other people's legs and faces. Like socialists and other people's money lol.

Looks like Getzlaf's gonna get away with a homophobic slur, and Perry with trying to bust a ref's wrist, both of which would get everybody else in the NHL a gigantic suspension- fine.

I guess Buttman and his sponsors really want the TV revenue from CA, and another Ducks cup story.

the problem with your theory is it assumes if we somehow could approach anaheims goonishness, they would miraculously stop, which of course is nonsense.

the fact is we need to win the games and we are doing that with as much grit as we have available, and thats what we are doing

Nah, we won't have 6-8 guys to thug it up like them. Currently we have 2 who can respond. 3 or 4 would be better, could stave off some injuries.

The injuries are really there for us all to see. It's not just a theory. Plus there's a little thing known as honor and self respect.

IMO, Forsberg and Neal are doing a better job at the "dirty" game than any Ducks player in this series and I think it is working. Those two have arguably been our best forwards in this series.

Again you post nonsense. It doesn't matter if we have 3 or 4 players who can goon it up, they(the Ducks) won't hold back all of a sudden, they will still goon it up just as much if not more because their goons players can actually score. As you admitted above, we don't have enough goons to match them blow for blow, so the only thing icing more goons does for us is make us less likely to score goals

I can't post the link from my phone but it's been confirmed that Johansen had acute compartment syndrome. No permanent damage, full recovery expected. Story is apparently in Tennessean online and can be linked through Vignans twitter

Apologies if it's already been addressed in this thread. Who is taking Johansen's place on the roster? I'm not 100% up on the eligibility rules for players in the postseason. Either way go Preds, would love to see you guys win it this year!

No one replaced him on the roster as far as call ups or anything. Previous scratches Vern Fiddler and Frederick Gaudreau drew into the lineup for Fisher and Johansen. Colton Sissons and Jarnkrok played 1st and 2nd line center

The injuries are there for all to see. You can call that nonsense if you wish, not my image / cred to be affected.

If we can't have 8 tough guys, we shouldn't have 3 instead of 2 ? Okey-Dokey......

We saw some cred and honor when McLeod stuck up for his mate. Cost us a goal too. Then we won.

It's probably the right answer to just suck it up against the Blues, they had two nasty guys in Reaves and Upshall. Not so much the Ducks, who will be glad to injure your top guys.

Who has been injured due to the Ducks goons though?

Fisher was a weird accident on an odd play by Manson. Johansen we can't even pinpoint when it happened, and the play that is most likely was a typical hockey hit.

Everyone else was injured prior to the Ducks series.

Not arguing; just disagreeing. I've watched every game and they've gooned it up and played dirty every game. The only reason the Preds haven't had more games lost has been fortunate. A couple of their "stars" are stick men, using their sticks with intent to injure. One of them consistently accidentally runs into Pekka. Their best player uses homophobic slurs. One of their stars abused an official last game. They constantly pick fights with non fighters on the Preds. This is a typical old school team of bullies who play dirty as opposed to skilled. They are good enough to get into playoffs but revert to such dirty tactics as a game plan. It isn't rough, tough hockey it is dirty and We have seen it over and over. A team and coach like this should not be tolerated. It is the dark side of hockey that runs fans away.

I knew there was somebody out there who actually watches what's going on.

They showed the hit that injured Johansen. I think it was Manson, but whomever, buried their knee in the back of his upper leg.

It was Manson that pushed Aberg over somebody else (old schoolyard trick lol) for the face-on-ice. It was Manson that conveniently plowed Fisher's face while gloving a puck. And Manson's probably the least pure-dirty of all of them. He's actually a big goober of a kid trying to make a play most times.

Getzlaf goes cheap whenever he's losing, Perry's always been a little ******, Kessler's game is hustle and cheapshots, Boll and Bieksa pure thuggery (and I like Boll actually, as one of the last real enforcers who will stick up for a mate), Richie and Silverberg have talent, but they just follow the cheap cheatin' leaders' lead. Thompson just another mutt.

To pretend these guys aren't the dirtiest team in the league is just a whole other level of silliness.

And I know our guys aren't saints, but we really didn't see complaints of dirty play until we faced them in this series. I know they will never buy it but guys like Neal started running people and throwing elbows and punches because they came out of the gate doing it. Some times you force the other teams hand and I think after watching it for so long most Ducks fans don't see the forest for the trees.

There is a reason every other fan base out there just hates the Ducks, especially after watching a series against them, and it's not because they are good and hard to beat. It's because you see some stuff you thought was long gone from hockey, and things that during the regular season would keep you in the box for 90% of a playoff game.
