Play him as the fourth line center because to play that role he already seems set really. Doesnt need to grow or work on his defensive game like most wing prospects. No real glaring weakness, just needs to develop his offense, but if he is used as the 4th line center and gets 11 minutes a game he would be fine I think

I'd like to see Chris Connor with the big club next year.

Guess that is up to Babs, but would rather him play high teens in GR, if Babcock only plays the fourth line 7 minutes or less a game next year.

Yeah the reason that Babs didnt play that fourth line is cause it was brutal. Had an AHLer centering it, an old broken down Homer and god knows who on the other wing spot. It wasnt a line it was a mish mash of a bunch of guys who made the team because they were out of waiver options or old guys on their last legs

It's probably time for Jurco to move on though. My guess is that we'll hear Jimmy Nill say that when the time comes to make a serious decision on where he'll be next year.

What might be a little frustrating to hear for some of you who didn't know is that Frankie Pare is still under contract for one more year. At least I didn't know that. Bah. Oh well.

Conner-Andersson-Pare (if not Conner then some other veteran, I'm sure)
Tatar-Sheahan-Jurco (Or maybe Ferraro as center)
Raedeke-Ferraro-Coetzee
Callahan-Aubry-Parkes

One might ask about the possibility of Fabian Brunnstrom:
  • Honestly, he probably hasn't done well enough to be a Red Wing.
  • However, to his credit, he has done well enough to deserve a real shot on another NHL team, imo. He's improved his overall game significantly.
  • Perhaps an organization that is very Swede-friendly and/or a team that prefers skilled players like Buffalo could have a decent role for him.
  • At the end of the day, he's got a growing family to look after and he can definitely make a better living and have a better quality of life on another NHL team, the KHL or maybe even the SEL depending on the circumstances. Therefore I wouldn't expect him to stick around another year in GR.

Feel like they need another scoring winger for that top line, Minard was awesome after he returned, I'd like him back if he could back that up.

That second line is droolworthy.

4th line > 3rd line.

I'm not sure about another scoring winger. Didn't they lead the league in scoring last year? I mean, yeah, you can always use more scoring but I'm sure you're more worried about their defense. The first line theoretically appears like it would be a pretty good defensive line. And yeah I just love the idea of that 2nd line and that 4th line was awesome last year. 3rd line is just leftovers, really. I figured Ferraro would be the third line center before Aubry and I wanted to keep the Aubry line together.
