You must have forgotten that Rielly is involved in the trade, so Toronto says no.

If you are going to go so far out of your way to **** all over a fanbase, at least try a little harder.
So much fail.

We have nylander, lupul, kessel and jvr on the wings. we dont need mantha, but still, imagine if we got him at 21. 0_0 Aparently the leafs liked him too... Wings screwing us again lol, we trade up for biggs but not for mantha.

damn this post is all over the place lol
Nylander will only play wing for maybe one season. If you think we're gonna win with bozak at centre, your wrong. Plus Lupul is declining , what happens after 2 years?

Yeah I don't see either Detroit or Toronto doing this deal, Toronto is to high on Rielly and Detroit is to high on Mantha does'nt make to much sense for either team right now.

Rielly will NEVER be moved for anything short of a superior young player of the same position. He is our Keith of the future, a dman that can actually anchor our blueline deep into the post-season.

Nylander would be more expendable than Rielly, and that's saying something.

To some that is saying something others not so much, plenty of talk on the Wings board about any Swedish prospect there were more than a couple of us that wanted no part of Nylander if he was falling near our pick. Some of that was team need, but his now superstar prospect status is curious, especially since he had a less than stellar draft year campaign. Interesting what will happen to a guy if the right team pulls the trigger on him.

Also love the bash Mantha's accomplishments outside of the NHL while every five to ten posts by Leafs fans have something about the gem that is Nylander and where he will fit in. Nylander's accomplishments in lower tier hockey don't sniff Mantha to date so it is kind of like talking out of both sides of your mouth if you choose to make that post. Fine with Leafs fans declining, I like Rielly just find this part about Nylander a little hypocritical.

Rielly has a ton more value than Nylander as does Mantha right now. Once again for the record if the Wings are moving Mantha I hope we are packaging him with other things for something better than Rielly, who while exciting isn't the kind of certainty you move an Anthony Mantha type for. Just like Rielly won't be moved for Mantha and a small plus who while exciting isn't the kind of return you should be moving him for.

I don't think a lot of people realize Mantha isn't going anywhere unless the name coming back is Crosby, Ovechkin, Malkin, Stamkos, Weber, Doughty etc.

Detroit will not even think of moving him

Yup neither one of these teams would make this deal.

Detriot gets a future 1st pairing D, which won't hurt in their rebuild.

Toronto gets that prized prospect who seems overhyped but has the numbers to prove why he's so good.
This helps Toronto fill their wing for the future.

Detriot 1st future pairing: Dekyser - Rielly

Toronto future 1st two lines : JVR - Nylander - Kessel
Lupul/Leivo - Kadri - Mantha
Toronto future top 4: Gardiner - Phaneuf
Finn - Percy
Future as in three years.

Remember, both teams can replace any future problems they have with their first round 2015 picks. Since both are expected to be in the 8 - 20th spot in the draft, the leafs can draft a prospect for the top 4 and Detriot can draft another winger.. Even though they have some good ones developing.

What needs to be added here?
Pretty easy no from Toronto.

Good try. We all enjoy fishing, but this is whale hunting. Could you have used a bigger hook? Gretzky or Orr?

Of the Leafs' five regular defensemen, Reilly was 3rd in possession (at 44.5%), 3rd in points, 4th in goals, and 4th in plus/minus, and this despite having the lowest quality of competition and highest percentage of offensive zone starts. He had the least blocks, the least hits, and the lowest shooting percentage, and he saw hardly any time on the penalty kill. The single way in which he stood out lay in his low tally of minor penalties.

If Reilly has proven anything at all in the NHL, it's that as a high draft pick, he still has a lot to prove. I do not understand why so many Leafs fans speak of him as a sure thing.
