Hey caps fans, will be in town for the big game Tuesday (when I booked it a while back had no idea how important it'd be!) I'm looking for a couple places to eat around the arena and White House, and a place to eat in Alexandria around the old town. I dont want to spend a lot, it doesn't have to be fancy. Just delicious and reasonably priced... and preferably something unique to the DC area. Thx
Not for everyone, but I've had good food there when visiting the DC area. Would go again.

Southside 815 is one of the best cheap eats in old town.
Old Ebbitt is a solid offerring near the White House, but Ben's Chili Bowl is as uniquely DC as it gets for cheap eats. Not particularly walkable from the White House, but easily reachable by Metro.
I am going to the game on Sat (4/27) . What time do they open the arena ?
I booked this trip in Jan thinking it would be the last B's game of the year. Because of all of the trouble in Boston it is no longer.
Looking forward to the game. I went a few years ago and the Caps fans were cool.
Thank s!
Typically 1 hour before game time. I'd highly recommend getting there early. Due to increased security measures and a ridiculous ticketing system this year for STHs, the lines to get in have been significantly longer and slower. I showed up 15 minutes before game time one game this year and missed the first 4 minutes of game play.

OK Thanks !
I like to get there for the pre game skate . I understand about the security as I am a Boston STH and it's been a difficult week.
Hey guys, wanting to see some playoff hockey and the ticket prices don't look too bad for the caps so I'm going to head to the game tomorrow from Philly. I don't mind which team shoots twice, but are there any suggestions where I should sit? I've never been to this venue before. I'd prefer something up high.
Also, I'll be in the area for the day, anything I should check out before/after the game?

Stubhub has a decent image of the view from each section so use that as a guide if you like. There's nothing major in terms of must-haves or things to avoid (although Horn Guy in section 415 and Goat in section 105 can both be pretty loud if you're near them) so it really depends on what little things you care about and how much you want to spend, I suppose.
