His creativity is really coming out again, and it makes us much more dangerous offensively. I can forgive the occasional defensive gaffe (like getting burned by Crosby) because of the offensive flair he brings.
Exactly. He's by far our most offensively-creative Dman. He's a puck-mover, and its easily seen on the PP.

He's OK at even strength, i doubt you ever see him on the PK - but he's a strength on the Powerplay. He can also play a regular shift without making you worry.

This was / is a good trade, even if things don't workout well in the POs. He made the team better. I'm happy, too, this is our first Dman, deadline-acquisition in awhile that doesn't suck.

Zids throws the body well and in a timely manner, as well. Larsson should be watching him and taking notes.

i'm not worried about zids having another year on his contract. that wasn't true when we made the trade. i don't mind him at all on the powerplay and getting middle of the road es minutes.

I'm not really worried that he'll fall off a cliff with age either. He still has it.

If Petr Sykora can still go, then of course Zids can as well.

A very key acquisition by Genius Lou.

What exactly happened? I vaguely remember seeing the replay, but I was pretty ****ed up at that point in the game

Sal and the Cane were jostling in the crease, Marty basically shoved him out of his crease when he was lingering there.

Looks like Marty just hit him with a left hook. Great timing with the picture.

Good crowd, with a lot of Devil's fans. Quite a few "Let's Go Devils" chants during the game.
I was in Section 110. Tickets were fairly cheap on StubHub.
The fans around us were pretty nice, even though they didn't have a lot to cheer for. Will definitely be making another trip or two down there next year since it's only a 3 hour drive for me.
I think my buddy sat around there. I think he said 108 or 109. He said it was a section over from the end of the Canes bench closer to the corner, and not the Devils bench.

Probably 108. In 110, we were more along the right side of the back of the net.
It was a good time, will definitely do it again. The only thing that made me shake my head (even though it was still funny as hell) was at the end of the game, I made a pit stop before leaving the arena. In the restroom, a couple fans were in there randomly yelling "DEVILS!". This big, tall dude in a Canes jersey behind me, obviously drunk, responds with "Maybe someday you guys will bring home a cup."
All I could do was let out a chuckle.
