How do you have a playoff series between 3 teams? Would it be like a regular playoff series? How are junior teams with lower budgets able to afford flying cross country to play the 2-2-1-1-1 series format?

I dont have a problem with a host team, as long as their team has a competitive roster when selected to host. The Sea Dogs should have hosted this year. However Shawi still deserved to be there. They were ranked 5th in the whole CHL at the end of the season, they ran into a hot goalie in the second round. Welcome to hockey upsets happen
See post #84. No travel - all games at home of higher seed.

Dude, get over it. If the other teams deserved it more then they would have WON the tournament. Only in your mind is being away from any kind of real competition for a month a good thing.

The tournament will and should stay the same way, it's fine as it is. 3 teams would be too few.

You should know that it's so easy for the host team that they win it every year.....

Forgot the

If the host team has an easy road, why don't we see them win the cup more often?? Long break is not always a good thing and first of all, the team as to be able to compete with the others 3 teams just like Shawi did with beating all of them.

The obvious answer would be that the host team doesn't win the Cup more often because they aren't as good as the three league champions (and that even having home-ice advantage doesn't bridge that gap completely).

False advertising IMO. It's a replica.

They should say "Shawinigan treats Memorial Cup Trophy replica like garbage"

But of course, there's no WOW factor in that right? Gotta spice up the story somehow

We can see both players were already gone before Donnelly had it.
