I'm in a yahoo h2h 10 team keeper, keep 6. Im currently tied for 1st
I may be able to pull off
kopi and klingberg 8th and 9th
2nd & 3rd
My team is pretty deep so they would probably not be kept. I would be banking on them turning it around in the 2nd half, would you guys do it or should I stand pat? My apologies for hijacking this thread.
I dropped Kopitar for Tkachuk last week and couldn't be happier..
Tkachuk has outscored, out PIMd, out-everything that Kopitar has in the past week since I picked him up..
But I think what people are failing to realize is the Center position in Fantasy Hockey is a deep one.. hanging onto Kopitar while there might be some really talented Centermen available is a bad decision IMO.
Kopitar has been on free agency in my two cash pools for over a week now.. no ones touched him.. maybe I'll take a chance at him soon again.
This is a perfect example of a "what have you done for me lately". Kopitar is a better player than Vanek, he may not be right now, but he could be as soon as tomorrow, or next week.
I don't think players like Kopitar are worthy of just being dropped - they only get dropped because people get so impatient, and almost always, another GM's prospers.
You can't chase the hot and cold streaks of players in fantasy, they change far too often.
What makes you think that chasing Vanek is like chasing a hot streak? Anyways, I think it depends on your needs, if you're lacking offense then Vanek is the better player to have at the moment, he's playing top minutes in Detroit and is currently their best forward. Not saying Kopitar won't bounce back, but you're under the assumption that he will absolutely outproduce Vanek for the remainder of the season, don't be so sure about that, specially considering that Vanek is an upcoming FA and is likely playing for a contract.
With that said, if your team is lacking in stats such as faceoffs won, blocked shots, or hits, then Kopitar is the better investment for sure.
