I haven't watched it since I saw it in the theater. I liked it at the time but I thought it was way overrated by critics. I'd have to watch it a second time to see how I feel about it now.
well I am a bit sad-- over the weekend in my hotel here we had some entertainment guys and gals staying in the hotel and two work for EON production (who does the Bond movies) I thought the next Bond Movie was coming in 2015-- but in fact it is 2016 according to them, unless the pre-production time table gets moved up and it does not look that way. Craig is doing a few things that has someone dictated the schedule. They did Craig is signed for two more Bond movies and that will take him till he is 50

That's fine by me. They rushed getting the next movie out with Brosnan (pretty much every two years) and the quality of the series suffered, IMO.
I honestly feel Craig could have his own series of films as Bond much like Christian Bale had with Batman. With every film his character appears to develop and mature in some manner. It would be interesting to follow this edition of Bond for at least several more films whilst watching him age into his 50s and adapt as a person and as an agent. Craig is 45 years old right now. A decade seems like an appropriate amount of time for three films to be made. He is currently signed on for two more. If the second of those two is well-received, perhaps they would agree to another deal.

I was under the impression the plan was to have him do 8 films in total, this giving him the record for being Bond in the most movies.
Ahhh I see now

On 8 September 2012, Bond producers announced Craig had signed on for two future Bond films and not five as previously reported. This would bring his total to five films, which would be two fewer than Roger Moore's record of seven.

Pretty sure they want to do a 2 movie story arc next, from what I've read, and film them together. So long as the quality stays high, I can't complain. Comparing these to the Pierce Brosnan movies is good for a laugh or two. Does Bond really have to be PG13 though? Especially now with Skyfall doing so well.
The difference is that Daniel Craig (like Brosnan) is a legit movie star with other projects. Roger never seemed to have much going on outside of Bond, or at least nothing successful.

Yup, it does. The great thing about Bond has always been that it can push the envelope and still be "family fun". And yeah, a movie being rated PG-13 and R makes a HUGE difference in box office.
Bond can NEVER be rated R. Part of what makes this franchise so great is that it always ties the line on sex, violence, and language but never crosses it.
Cool that this thread popped up, I've been meaning to watch Skyfall again since enjoyed it so much in theatres. Wonde if it will hold up on a smaller screen. The colours and cinematography in the film were beautiful. Not to mention the movie itself was pretty good.
I was actually pleasantly surprised when I saw Skyfall a few weeks ago on the small screen, as it definitely didn't lose anything from the big screen. Was afraid it would be like The Dark Knight, which I was honestly left shocked at how much less epic it felt on the tube versus in the cinema.
Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies are both better than any of the Craig movies
I find Goldeneye the weakest of the Bronson movies. What's great about the Bond franchise is that you can have diffrent actors, diffrent stories, diffrent writing & aside from the basics of sex, booze & gadgets & still have a completely diffrent feel to each movie.
From Russia with Love surprised the hell out of me, I remember hating it for some reason. But it had been a long time.
IMO Russia With Love is the best Bond movie of all. It's one of the few that really sets up the dynamic of Bond within the Cold War itself, working both as an agent against arch-villains as well as the Soviets. The plot is simple but works really well, Tatiana is one of the best Bond girls ever (ie not a total floozy), you really like the villains even if Grant doesn't get much screen time, and Bond has to use his brains as well as gadgets to beat the enemy.

...really? I think Goldeneye might be the 3rd or 4th best Bond ever, behind the first three Connery films. Great plot, great villain, great women, great dialogue. IMO the Brosnan movies get worse in order, Die Another Day is probably the worst Bond film since A View To A Kill.
