I'm no fan of Rush, but shouldn't they be higher up on the bill? You'd think they'd be a headliner and not a DJ or Bruno Mars... oh well.
True, but have you ever seen the crowds these DJs pull in? It's not surprising when Tiesto or Skrillex or Deadmaus bring in 100 000 at a fest. Also, remember, this is Quebec. Rush isn't as notable here as in the rest of Canada, methinks.
Also, the only fest I care about this summer is Pouzza. Saves The Day and Braid one day, Transit, Lemuria, Crime In Stereo, The World is a Beautiful place..., Cerce, Grade the next, man.

I sort of wanted to buy a pass to Pouzza, but in the end I'm only going to see the Ataris' show. It's a week before I go on vacation, and didn't feel like spending too much.

The passes are kinda ridiculous because from what I understand unless you bought the super early VIP passes, they include every show except the Club Soda/Metropolis shows. I wanted to go see New Found Glory at Metropolis, but tickets for that are something like $35 + FDS. I'm probably gonna hop between a bunch of Foufs/Piranha/Katacombes/Esco shows. I'm into a lot of the emo/screamo/hardcore bands that are playing the smaller venues, so I'm happy. The only big bands I have to see are Braid and Saves The Day, as it's probably the last time either come here.

Oh, really? Heh. I only wanted to see the club shows. Not too fond of the other bands, but wanted to see bands I liked as a teenager.

Pouzza's always been that "bands you like as a teenager" kinda fest. Every year it seems like I would've spent like $300 on tickets if I were $15
But I like how there's plenty of bands who wouldn't ever come here if it wasn't under the pretext of a punk fest.

Hahah, sounds about right.
I saw Brendan Kelly, Chuck Regan, and... whoever else they played with last year at their acoustic set at Underworld. That was fun.
Any love for the jazz fest? A tribe called red, Rhye, Mother Mother, Woodkid, Herbaliser...
Anyone?
Ilike that all those shows at the Club Soda are pretty cheap.
Thanks for reminding me to check the lineup. Same story as every year for me with the Jazz Fest though...some concerts I'd like to check out, but not at $50+.
There were a couple at Club Soda that looked interesting (only about $20) but nothing I'd rush out to...
