No interest in Desharnais for Paajarvi. Moen would be nice, but again not for Paajarvi.

Desharnais doesn't suck at all. He's just the odd man out since we're too small upfront.

oilers turn this down very quickly. Boyd Gordon is better than Moen. Desharnais is a 5 foot 7 smurf who has soft numbers. Magnus Paajarvi, while not my favorite player, he showed signs last year of being the missing link that the oilers need. When he played with Yakupov after hemsky went down, they looks very good and very dangerous

Good thing our entire top 6 is huge then...

Every time.

You guys are like Calgary fans with Bouwmeester for the past 2 years or Canucks fans trying to get rid of Booth.
Yea and that's why the good quebeckers don't want to play here.

Yeah, they don't want to play in MTL because of English HFboard trade proposals. Makes total sense.

lol, addition by substraction. Desharnais is redundant with the emergence of Eller and Galchenyuk, and we have him booked for 4 more years.

I'd give that package for a 7th round pick.

Keep in mind that this board is in English and that it's not representative of the majority of Habs fans. Too many English speaking Habs fans (not all of them) are literally obsessed by the idea of getting rid of every French element on the team. And they are over-represented here.

Language really shouldn't be a factor in any of this, the objective should be to ice the best team possible, regardless of language. This language barrier is whats holding this team back unfortunately coaches and staff need to be French speaking, French speaking players....

The 24 Stanley Cups suggest otherwise.

DD + Moen + 2nd is the new Ryder + Halak + 2nd

Habs fan should really stop offering these players in every proposal and try to get an asset buy doing so. Their value is very low due to their bad year and it would be the worst time to trade them. You don't sell low/buy high.

We should start a poll on which players will be in every proposal next year. My pick is Bourque + Diaz

This isn't because he's french, it's because he's small.

I think it's a combination of both. Latendresse, Lapierre, Brisebois, Bégin, Pouliot, Ribeiro and many others have been targets for the same mockery on the Habs board, despite their size.

Obviously. Every Canadian fanbase seems to do this. Ballard, Horcoff, Stajan, Desharnais, no one wants your trash.

And there's also a contingent of French speaking Habs fans that want nothing more than to ice as many French-Canadians as possible, regardless of how good they actually are. It goes both ways. Personally, if the best team we could possibly ice had literally no French-speaking players on it, I'd be fine with that. Conversely, if the best team we could ice had a majority of French-speaking players, I'd be fine with that too.

Please don't retort with this. It's a pointless strawman that accomplishes nothing. Language should have nothing to do with icing a hockey team, but it does and we are at a disadvantage compared to other teams. Winning cups twenty plus years ago does not magically alter that fact.

No. Outside of hfboards and english radio stations. Desharnais is seen as a small forward that had a terrible 1/4 a a full season after a 60+ pts season. They hope he can rebound, they would be against moving the guy either knowing the habs size situation. But they wouldnt be happy with the habs dumping him at all like it would here. It's not the same at all.
