Although I still think Calvert made a bad decision turning down a NHL contract offer from the CBJ several years ago I still like his potential. He needs to forget his home town and start thinking pro, if he wants to be a NHL pro that is. This kid could be good if he grows up a bit.

Sometimes I just have to admit that I do not understand you and will never understand you, and just move on with life.
It's frustrating, though, considering that I pride myself on my ability to follow broken and/or malformed logical chains. And yet with you I am regularly thwarted.

So, to get this straight:
The kid turned down a depth role for an AHL team that was full of guys who were going nowhere, for a chance to play in Canadian junior hockey's most prestigious tournament for his hometown team in a starring role ... and you're holding it against him three years later?

Got it.
After the ELC contract - which he promised he'd sign immediately after that tournament - is more than half over, even, and has given us the opportunity to see him outperform Filatov's early years.
