I like the offer for the Flames. If they get him, he becomes their #1 center right now probably, just because of their lack of depth. It also probably reduces the 1st round pick value because their team is immediately better, but the shot at a lottery pick for the Avs might sway them to take the picks.
The Avs might just take the picks here. They have to think about it anyway.
I don't believe canucks offer sheet ROR........I think he already signed with calgary so no doubt he not coming here.......offer sheet should have been canned from the CBA
Doesn't matter if Vancouver sent an offer sheet or not. O'Reilly signed Calgary's not Vancouver's.
Edit: person above me. Vancouver could have sent an offer of say 2 years at 4mil per. Calgary also sends an offer in but of 2 years 10mil. O'Reilly then chose to sign Calgary's. That reporter could just be saying that the Canucks did try to sign him but couldn't.
Pretty much. Rodin was developing really well until he had his shoulder injuries and then it all went downhill. He outplayed MPS at the WJC and was one of the better players in the whole tournament. Had a very good season in the SEL too.
How exactly was Gillis supposed to predict that Rodin would get a freak injury to his two shoulders and then suddenly become injury prone after hardly missing any time earlier in his career?
This pick isn't on Gillis, it's on Gradin anyways.
Suggesting this is like trading Jones or Mackinnon at this point is far fetched to say the least.
They'll be battling for the last two spots IMO, I'd move a 14-18th overall for O'reilly, just not at that wage.
Good for Calgary, better than Edmonton's method of rebuilding IMO.
They've also had a pretty easy schedule so far and are still a .500 team. We'll see how they handle March where they've got a run of games against VAN, SJS, ANA, LAK, LAK, DET, NSH, DAL, NSH, STL, and CHI.
Ummm nice. Van issuing an OS makes sense. Contender giving up picks to get a young C does seen logical for them.
Colorado would have probably matched ours anyways. With Calgary it's a tougher call as the picks would be higher. I also can't see Gillis meeting the $6.5 million that Feaster went for. That's insane!
