He's still not on the level of Tavares or Duchene. #3 is where he should be.
He's easily a top 10 defender, arguably top 5. How the **** is Duchene better?

Waddell did something right? lol

If we didn't get Kane, I'd switch straight up for Tavares obviously (substantial add), and also Duchene (minimal add).

Value-wise, OEL is also very good and Hedman is gonna be a beaut. But Kane is what we organizationally need moreso than them so I'll stick with Evander. Tie goes to the runner (our actual pick).

I agree with most of you that Hedman should be higher on my list, and Kadri should be a little lower along with Schenn, but I took their respective ceilings into consideration as well. IMO, those above him have higher upside.

Also with Lehner yeah he deserves to be in top 20 my fault there, not enough research, did this whole thing from my phone.

Agreed. OEL is a top 10 d-man in the league already. Maybe top 5. Duchene is a top 30 forward.

There are more forwards, but OEL is pretty elite among his position.

Top 10 are still fine, maybe tack in ROR/Mojo near the tail end for PRV/Glennie

In what world does Kassian and Palmieri get selected in front of Johansson in a re-do of the draft? I'm guessing you looked at his stats for this year and that was it.

Plus ROR is better than both Schenn and Kadri as well

1. John Taveras - no doubt the best player feom that draft.
2. Matt Duchene - has emerged as a dominant 2 way C.
3. Oliver Ekman-Larson - the most complete defenceman in the draft, offence and defence he brings it all.
4. Evander Kane - has been a consistant scorer since entering the league.
5. Nazem Kadri - has finally emerged in the NHL, and continuing to improve as a C.
6. Brayden Schenn - has earned a spot as a top 6 guy in Phili, playing both C and wing.
7. Victor Hedman - a big body defenceman that can put up points, has emerged recently.
8. Ryan O'Rielly - has emerged as prob the best 2 way C in this draft.
9. Marcus Johansson - great 2 way, multidimensional player, playing both wing and C.
10. Dimitry Kulikov - since his rookie year he's fallen a bit, but still a solid dman with offensive potential.
11. Nick Leddy
12. Jarred Cowen
13. Magnus Paajarvi
14. Zach Kassian
15. David Runblad
16. Jacob Silverberg
17. Kyle Palmieri
18. Ryan Ellis
19. Jordan Schroeder
20. Robin Lehner
21. Chris Kreider
22. Tim Erixon
23. Tomas Tatar
24. Louis Leblanc
25. Jacob Josefson
26. Peter Holland
27. Calvin DeHaan
28. John Moore
29. Scott Glenie
30. Eric Wellwood

EDIT:
- moved Robin Lehner from 27 to 20
- moved Jacob Josefson from 20 to 25
- moved Calvin DeHaan from 25 to 27
O'Reilly, Hedman and Leddy should be higher. And why is Schroeder, LeBlanc, Holland glennie and wellwood in the first round?

Am I the only one here who finds Evander Kane hilariously overrated as a player?

while reading this tread that is almost the first thing I noticed, Personally I'm not very high on him developing into a key player you can rely on. Those social media pictures also will never help him gain any respect in this league( and I love players with personality, just not arrogance, he just seems like the most unlikable character)
