That could be worth a try. Though it might be unfair in the other direction.
Maybe:
high, low, low, high, high, low, high, low etc...
Yeah, I think your proposal would get it about right, if we were ever to change the order. But really, we've had teams drafting top, bottom and middle win this thing, so I don't see any compelling evidence that the draft order inherently favors one draft position over another. I have my opinions about certain draft order "sweet spots" that yield better picks than others because of how tiers tend to break down, but that will always happen, no matter the system.
At this point, only the owner of Gordie Howe seems to have a noteable advantage.

Are there stats about the ratio where someone owning one of the top-four won? One owner having an advantage is bad enough, the others must have drafted bad. It sure is a long draft, but anyhow, the ratio?

It's on page 3 of the ATD Championship Retrospective thread (stickied at the top of this forum). In that thread, you can find all of the past champions, and further discussion on ATD trends, etc. Just recently, I posted the draft placements of all of the champions. We've only had ten drafts now, so statistically it is meaningless, but the distribution looks pretty normal so far.

I would like to see the stats for the final 4 sometime. That would give you a much more meaningful sample of 40.
