That's a personal favorite of mine. Especially considering that Giroux went to Laviolette and requested that he put him out on the first shift. He said the following to Briere and Talbot:
Quote:
“Before they dropped the puck, he came over and told me to watch the first shift,” Danny Briere said.
“Claude called it for me before the start of the game. He said I’m going to have a great first shift. I didn’t know what it meant and he was physical and he scored a goal so that’s what a leader would do,” said former Penguin Max Talbot. “Claude definitely set up the tone early for us tonight.”
Lindros had some shifts that left you speechless. But I think Giroux's shift has to be the best since he layed out crosby and scored a goal in the first shift of the game.....and the fact that he called it before hand makes it incredible.
Adam Foote's last shift in his last game. It's not like he scored any goals or anything like that. You could tell he knew this was his last shift so he said screw it, I'm just gonna do whatever I want. Also I'm pretty sure there was something wrong with his ankle at the time as well.

most memerable shift ever for me. I love the way he hammers that players stick like 100 feet in the air. Then he just manhandles along the boards the same way he did his whole career. Not the most skilled guy ever, but hands down my all time favorite defenseman.
