why should we trade Beach? we won't get anything that will help us in the NHL for him and a prospect swap is not what we need.

I guess we should close off all discussion on players smoke meat pete does not want.

In a recent post seeking Dubi to Hawks, while not many replies there was consensus that
Dubinsky + Christian Thomas to Hawks
for
Olsen + McNeil to Rangers

was win-win and good value to both sides.

Now assume that is the case, and that deal goes through.

My question is, what would be fair value/what both sides can accept for Beach to NYR?

Also, as part of that deal, any interest in one of our prospect Gs or Biron?

Thomas is too small IMO and taking on that much cap while giving away a young NHL dman and a 1st rounder in McNeill who has so much physical talent is too much

Who agreed to that?

But it isn't a good deal for the Hawks and wouldn't go thru.

At this point Beach should be valued as a 3rd line winger. It all depends if Chi wants to trade him for a similar valued Dman.

I can understand them wanting to hang onto him in case he does pan out to be a menacing top 6er. However, with Saad added; i think it makes Kyle somewhat expandable.

Franson
for
Beach

isn't a half bad starting point.

Except Franson is not that good ,, We saw enough of him with Preds

He was worst dman on ice most nights for Preds

You mean as a rookie and sophmore? Crazy. Who'd a thunk it. At least he's on an NHL roster.

I think part of that issue is that he was burried by depth in a very strong defensive group. Franson played better this year than he ever did with Nashville, just as Hamhuis flourished once he got more responsibility. Franson isn't top pairing, but as a tweener between your 2nd and 3rd pairings, he's a good young piece.

Still...don't think the Hawks do the trade if they think Beach still has any potential.

Since when does Brandon Dubinsky, who's about to complete a poor season, command two recent 1st round picks?

I'll give you Viktor Stalberg and Maxim Shalunov for Chris Krieder and Tim Erixon.

Quite a bit.

He no longer skates like in sand, even though he's a Beach.
