I agree

Grab the M8 if you can get it for 500 bucks unlocked

More features, better camera, SD card slot, , better sound, nice build quality, etc ....

Still, **** HTC for putting the power button on top and for placing that tiny notificaiton LED where it shouldnt be

With the google music, the songs that you ping and are downloaded to your device, can you sync them to your computer to put them on other devices as well, or no?
Anyone?

So, need a new phone since my GSIII literally just randomly died.

Nexus 5 or HTC One? I'm a big fan of the stock Android and was leaning Nexus 5.

Pinning is for mobile devices, to store on internal storage but I don't think that is permitted on PCs.

The question is, why the love for stock Android. If its for speed or looks, I'd give the M8 an in depth serious look before making a solid choice.

Because they both have meh cameras and the M8 has the better build quality.

But you need all access to sync accross all devices without uploading on Google Music from your PC, right?

Like, if I DL a song on my S4, I wont find it on Google Music on my N7 without all access

What does unlocking your phone actually do?

Okay thanks. I think I will go M8, build quality is important to me. Any others you think I should take a look at?

Ability to go to any provider that your cellphone is compatible to.When you buy a device from a carrier, it's usually locked so that only their SIM card will work.

Exceptions are phones like the Nexus 5 that are unlocked no matter where you buy one.

Not sure what you mean by "DL a song" but I'm assuming you mean pinning one on your S4.

If you don't have All access I'm not sure it's related.

If you bought a song or even uploaded an MP3 from your "acquired" collection on your PC, it will show up on Google Play Music regardless of whether you have All Access or not.

Let me know if I misunderstood.

Sony Xperia Z2 if build quality is important to you. Although it's tough to get it in the US. And it probably will cost you more than $500

My mom wanted to know if she pings the songs to her S5 device from Google Music and then decides she doesn't want Google Music anymore if she still gets to keep the songs. Anyone know?

On my end, personally, I've decided to just buy a battery case for my iPhone 5 so I can wait out the contract and not have to pay a fee to upgrade early and then I might also go for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

Yeah, the Xperia is ~$650, but damn is it a nice phone...

EDIT: Here's an unlocked version, but would this work with Verizon? Don't they have CDMA?

No you don't keep the song's that's one of the catches of subscription based services.
Just explain that, just like Netflix, once you cancel your subscriptions you lose the ability to view their content.

Pinning isn't actually keeping individual songs on the device, but more like making them available when an internet connection isn't available.

Sounds like a solid plan.

Really like the looks of the LG G3. The perfect phone is probably a cross between that and the M8, with access to Apple's App Store.

I'm thinking about returning to Android but am wary of its flaws. The Note 2 was a great device...for about a year. Then it was subpar. Low res screen, battery bleed, sluggish, sick of touchwiz, sick of the plasticky finish, sick of the button config. Not sure I want to jump in on a new contract, but a 1440p display is just insane.

Am I right to suggest that most everybody here would be happiest with TWO phones to switch between at any time? There is no all-in-one device for me.

I've been quite happy on the Nexus train the past three phones (Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 5). My next phone is likely going to be a One Plus One, though.

Hi guys. Just wanted to confirm that if I bought an unlocked Sony Xperia Z2 it would work on Verizon. Could I use my existing 4G LTE SIM card? Would 3G work since it is Verizon uses CDMA? Thanks.

It wouldn't work since there is no Voice over LTE support on Verizon yet.

Unlike AT&T and T-Mobile who blacklist bad devices, Verzion whitelists approved devices. So if the device isn't explicitly a Verizon device, it won't work.

Tried it , it works

Rooted, but stock TW, not flashing ROMs

Installed Xposed framework, and a few modules, like Youtube ad-away

When I have time I'll see what I freeze/remove

Thanks guys. So if I was on T-Mobile and bought the unlocked phone, I could get a SIM card from T-Mobile, put it in and have data + talk + text? Is this a limitation of the phone not supporting CDMA? I assume I can get 4G LTE data with Verizon from the SIM card but not voice since no VoLTE support and not CDMA support. Let me know if I make any sense.

Also, the Sony Xperia Z2 might be coming to Verizon: http://www.techtimes.com/articles/86...to-verizon.htm

So I have no desire for a high end phone...mid range is fine for me... and I'm on wi-fi a lot so the lower data cap doesn't bother me well.

So my question is has anyone tried Verizon's ( USA ) pre-paid service and/or has anyone messed around with the Moto G.

If Moto G was the only available phone, I would be happy with it.
