Pretty much a lot of things the Raiders have done in recent years is a waste. I'm not saying that just to bash the Raiders, but it's the truth. Anything good they have is outweighed by the bad by at least a 2-to-1 ratio.
Ravens are doing just fine without Lewis right now. They have Jameel McClain playing in the middle and he is playing well. He might even be better than Rolando McClain. There was also a report earlier today that said Lewis might return to practice tomorrow.
Apparently McClain is still with the Raiders....
Quote:
@Rapsheet: An hour ago, Rolando McClain posted this on his Facebook wall: "Officially no longer an Oakland Raider!!"
@Rapsheet: Then, Rolando McClain posted this: "Well technically I am. But I'm mentally done. Just waiting on my papers"
@Rapsheet: The Raiders say Rolando McClain is still on the team. His reps say they have not been notified. McClain, apparently, disagrees #weird
Great day for the Raiders organization. Terrible player with no football intelligence or game awareness, not good enough to start anywhere in the league to be quite honest.
Really weird when guys like this bust so badly. Coming out of college you would have expected "won't be a superstar, but a solid presence that could anchor the middle defense for a decade, good team leader and locker room guy, etc.". Seemed like a great departure from the typical Al Davis combine warrior project selection.
I remember as a Giants fan, I wanted him on the team, especially since Kiper mocked him to us, and we had no MLB, we dodged that bullet AND got JPP instead.

Yeah, as much as the Giants needed a MLB back then..I was hoping New York would get him but Oakland nabbed him instead. At the time, I liked the move cause the Raiders were moving into their 23456 new direction.
I was going to say something about Roland McCLain being a convicted felon playing in the NFL prior to serving jail time, but it turns out that he is not a convicted felon as apparently holding a gun to someone's head and firing a shot past their ear falls under the definition of a misdemeanor in Alabama. Maybe we aren't giving Rolando enough credit for his intelligence. If you are going to hold a gun to someone's head and blow one by his ear while he's begging you not to shoot him, you certainly want to do it in Alabama. He was wise to resist the urge to start busting caps near peoples' heads until he was out of California. 180 days in jail, 45 for each of the four misdemeanors? Man, compared to what he would have gotten if he did it in California, Rolando must be feeling pretty lucky right now.

It's even worse than that. The charges were dropped by the victim after he had already been convicted.
