I'm not 100% sold that a Hartford blogger necessarily has the inside scoop on such a move, ahead of everyone else. My impression is he's putting things together more than anything, though to be honest it very well might be correct in the end.

He is actually fairly well connected to the league office... he was one of the very first to report about the CHL/ECHL merger and what was happening.

Should we talk more about Vincour? That should be a guy that Roy likes right?

Everberg - Talbot - Vincour would be a 4th line I really like.

I don't think he's healthy yet, so that's maybe why he's not talked about. He had an underwhelming training camp when he was healthy, but he would help Lake Erie, same with Street.

Yeah, I'll let you guys know when Vincour plays. He was injured 2 minutes into the split squad game so there isn't much to go on. He was better that second day of camp.

I highly doubt cody is taken out of the lineup if healthy, except for when Bordy returns since Bordy is just plain better in a checking enforcer role. Even then it's doubtful with cody being an A and getting that contract extension.

So pretty much we can determine the week's lines from practice. Doesn't mean they will stay this way all weekend. Also, it's a bit of my guess as to who centers each line or which is the top 2 lines, that part isn't clear but it's an educated guess. If you guys are interested in this info I can keep posting or not bother.

Agozzino-Hishon-Rendulic
Schumacher-Sgarbossa-Everberg
Carey-Smith-Ryan
Bourke-Henley-Maggio

Extras: Cheek, Meurs

Vincour is skating now non contact.

Please keep posting it. I, for one, am curious about the LE lines and very much appreciate the info.

What do the pairings appear to be? Same as the first game?

I can't tell that from practice stalking but they are less fluid. Generally the same but I can't remember exactly from last weekend. I'll post for sure this weekend.

Stollery-Noreau
Siemens-Elliott
Beaupre/Lauridsen-Gervais

Is my best guess.

I wonder what happens when Street and Vincour come back, because that will be quite the log jame. Of course, there may be more injuries by then.

Its a good question because guys like Bourke shouldn't even be on the fourth line. Probably a few will get the Ft Wayne treatment.

So I just realized LE has back to back to back games this weekend, all in different cities. Talk about a crappy schedule.

That and they've had a grand total of one home game. And they are playing Grand Rapids tonight for the 5th time in 3 weeks if you count preseason.

Oh, and in news sure to disinterest everyone, I noticed on Nathan Condon's Twitter page that former Avs prospect Mike Carman has officially retired from hockey.

That's too bad. It really felt like he had a strong chance to develop into a good 3rd line center for a little while.

Man Sgarbossa made some nice moves on the Monsters 2nd goal of the night. Slick move then a pass then a goal.

A nice 5-4 win for the Monsters.
Everberg, Ryan, Lauridsen, Agozzino and Schumacher with the goals.

Smith, Sgarbossa and Elliott with multiple assists.
Sami with his first game, and first win of the season.

Didn't watch the whole game today, but Sgarbossa looks like a new player. It's like he's understood this might be his last chance to get his career back on track. Nothing wrong with the skill but the effort has to be there.

I was able to catch most of the game as well and I agree. Sgarbossa has put his foot down and played great this game. Not afraid to initiate contact and moved well.

Nice to see Everberg chipping in offensively. I think its better for him to be playing in Erie right now - he was fitting in as a depth guy on the big team but this gives him a chance to work on his offensive game and give him a better chance to stick in the NHL long term.

Was a good game. For some reason the Monsters just have their number, which is great because GR is in our division now. Balances out that the Monsters can't beat Chicago or Rockford. They played hard, moved the puck well and the lines were clicking. A bit scrambly on defense and Stollery almost made one too many mistakes by being overly aggressive. Nice to see them get 5 goals too.

Agree that Sgarbossa seems to have had some grand epiphany because he never played like that last year. It will be good for Everberg to get some games in. I like Kenny Ryan too, not bad for someone the Avs brought in as a camp tryout.

How has the defense looked? Siemens and Elliott in particular. I've been a big time Elliott supporter, but I'm finding myself caring less and less. Siemens fills a bigger need for us right now.

Sgar does have legit NHL quality skills, and can play with an edge to his game too. Hopefully he can overcome some of those attitude issues that seemed to be around him last year.

Defense has been ok, it's kind of a mish mash of different types. They both are playing decent, Elliott in particular had a good game yesterday. The difference is Siemens hasn't had his chance yet where I think Elliott's window of opportunity might be closing. I think he can have a good year in the AHL but there are a lot of guys that probably would get called up before him.
