The best rookie center this year was grigerenko. Mackinnon will not lack for accolades and awardsin the coming years.

I think a better case can be made for fucale over grigerenko for ROY.

I know he's a center, it's just silly/stupid how they pick their Rookie team. You'd probably want to market your best players as much as you can... No offense to Duclair and Andrighetto, but it should be the best forwards regardless of position.

On the note of center, MacKinnon needs to improve his FO's... Just like Crosby did in junior... Sid wasn't good at faceoffs but eventually got better... Hopefully Nate can do the same... (Yes I made the comparison )

What about 32 wins? Because that's all that really matters, and it's pretty damn impressive for a 16-year-old IMO. I didn't expect him to win the ROY, but it's good that he's getting recognition. I expect him to be in the hunt for the GOY next year.

This is very true. There were times where they'd make Critchlow or another player take the face-off for MacKinnon. That said, I'm not sure what his percentage for the year is, but he's definitely improved it as the years go on.

His 32 wins are the reason why he got defensive rookie over Brassard and Whitney but my point was about ROY, not other recognitions. There are no GOY award in the QMJHL.

Wow, it looks like you're right. That's pretty funny considering they have an award for everything else. Regardless, I expect Fucale to be one of the top goalies in the QMJHL next year.

Chris Gibson won GOY award in the CHL last year but was only named on the first all-star team in the QMJHL.

QMJHL only has an award for GAA.

The award should go to the guy who can play in any situation and isn't a risk for his team.

JGL is somewhat of a risk when he's on the ice, regardless of what he brings offensively.
