Great goal by Ryad.

The most incredible blunder of Lloris' career. Not great right before the Euro.

Motta scores for Paris, now it's getting tricky for Montpellier...

Better now than later

At least he can review that play and see what he has done wrong

That's the most ridiculous finish ever.

If Auxerre scores, Montpellier will whine that the delays killed them.
If Montpellier is champs, PSG will whine that the delays helped them.

Completely rubbish work by the stadium police.

Utaka scores from a scramble corner after Giroud has a great play saved.

Congratulations to Montpellier. A team with little money compared to PSG and Lyon but a title win nonetheless. Would never see that in the UK.

I wonder how much of their team will be left in about 3 months.

Yep...
Belhanda says he wants to stay.

Montpellier was the 14th team in L1 in terms of budget this year.

Was looking forward to watching Montpellier/Auxerre, but for some silly reason EuroWorldSport here in Canada showed the PSG/L'orient game instead . The game aired right after, but already knew the score. Booo

Giroud will definately leave, I don't think Belhanda will leave. I don't know about Yanga-Mbiwa. The rest will stay I believe. Of course Giroud will be a huge hole to fill tough...

I think that says a lot about the lack of top end skill in Ligue 1. Maybe some people find the Cinderella story nice but for me, and it's not just because I root for Paris, I would like to have consistantly strong top teams and the fact that there are so many big upsets in French Cup for instance is just a consequence of top clubs being not that good. As a result we look bad in European competitions and as we look bad in Europe top end skill doesn't want to go to France and it's a cycle of mediocrity and I'm sick of that.

That being said, Montpellier deserves the Ligue 1 title, they played better than Paris this season.

I kind of agree but in the mean time I don't...

I agree that the "big" teams failed this year for the most part : Lyon and OM were horrible for good stretches (or for long for Marseille).
But PSG had a good season, Lille too, and Montpellier had an exceptionnal season also because they had players playing at a very high level.

L1 now has had 6 different champions in the last 6 years right? Also shows a lack of consistency at the top.

edit: hm no it's 5 in 5
