Mackinnon is probably going to be the better defensive player but lets get serious here they arent choosing for defense with this pick. Drouins offensive ceiling is just flat out higher, with what seems to be very little limit. Don't get me wrong defense is important but it can be taught. If Mackinnon was bigger this would be an easy debate because he could be Lindros esque but he isn't. Mackinnon is a sure fire prospect as good as Seguin is probably better. I think you can say the same thing about Drouin compared to Pat Kane but I think with higher potential to bring it to another level.
