the announcer on the game tonight said it was coming to Ann Arbor, Michigan
Close enough If memory serves me right, the alumni game is being played in Detroit and the Winter Classic is being played at The Big House in Ann Arbor
Certainly injured, but no one gave Thornton or Marleau any slack for being injured injured in past playoff series. I guess that's what happens when you're HF's collective man-crush.

Not exactly. They're getting slack 'cause they've won Stanley Cups. (Same reason Fleury isn't getting completely buried by the media)
Definitely not the best way to go out, but at least he's not concussed like Alfie.
Yeah, poor Alfie.
I really don't think Nick will go out like that. He'll be back, probably at an annoyingly good discount that will allow the Wings to sign both Parise and Suter.

I didn't think Patrick Roy would go out after a 1st round loss to the Wild.

I'm going to laugh if Michigan makes the Rose Bowl and their attendance suffers. Part of why I don't think Detroit should've been part of the Winter Classic.
So, do Detroit blame the refs for this lost series, too?
Detroit fans are basically typical us. Complaining about lack of effort, bad luck, hot goaltending, refs, etc.

You never know with players.
True, but Nick has so many reasons to keep playing. He still has it, the Wings will host the Winter Classic, his coach wants him back, and his wife wants him to keep playing.

Luckily for them, they have their history to fall back on. We will probably bow out the same way tomorrow and the boards will be full of "ZOMG SHARKZ ARE CHOCKRZ!!1"
I'd like to see Lidstrom back. He's good for the game. That was Brad Stuart's last game in a Wing jersey. I hope he signs back here.
If one and only one of Chicago and LA advance, they'll play eachother in the next round.
Not exactly. Teams are re-seeded after the 1st round. St. Louis - Nashville series in the WQSF will only happen if San Jose and LA lose, and Chicago wins.
