And if we are counting hossa, then vc would have one in kesler who plays a meaner game then hossa, but he does not quite meet your size, weight requirements.
Of course they only faced one of them last year...so hard to say. Especially since they were eliminated by Hanzels team the year before.

We were eliminated by Smith, and only Smith.

If the playoffss started today under the old format, we still draw the god-damned Kings in the first round.

I don't think so.

If I'm not mistaken, it looks like we draw Colorado.

As for the Wild Card winners, Anaheim would play Phoenix and Chicago would play Minnesota. Leaving San Jose to play Los Angeles. I'm talking myself through this because I'm still getting used to this format.

It's going to be closer to that than what you imagine, I suspect. But yes, it won't exactly be like that. The 8th seed in the West will probably need 101 pts, in the East, 89pts, that's my guess, give or take a point or two either way.

Sharks have less points but will end up higher than Anaheim?

I'll take it.

Sharks have less points but have also played less games. It's a projection.

IDK about your teams but the Ducks have only played like 9 games vs Western conference teams. Eventually West teams will be losing to other west teams.

This^

As the powers of the West start playing each other more often instead of feasting on the weaker east, we'll see the point totals between the conferences begin to allign a little more closely.

How have the Hawks faired against the Coyotes the last couple years? Serious question because I feel like we usually get the better of them.

Funny enough, the ducks are 8-1 vs west teams so I welcome it .

I'm still confident that the West takes 110 pts, and East 85.

as long as refs aren't allowed calling penalties in the last 5 minutes of a tied west game!!!

when you use the points totals, but if you go by the table the poster I quoted used (also the one that NHL uses in waiver priority) then it would be:

Blues v Kings
Sharks v Yotes
Avs v Wild
Hawks v Ducks

At least in my understanding:
First in conference plays wild card #2
First in division not same as ^ plays wild card #1
Second in each division plays 3rd of their division
