Also just ran into this band the other day:

Has kind of that older style heavy metal sound to it, I like it.
Sorry but this is amongst the worst crap I have ever heard, what the heck is that???

Accurate representation of what AtR has become... Though I only listen to the Fall of Ideals...

This Darkened Heart is a great album as well, IMO.

In my rant a while back I neglected to mention Runemagick for some reason. Some of their riffs make my spine tingle.

Sigh...

I grew up with a few of the ATR guys and am still pretty close. I'm always certain to tell them that their latest release has some garbage on it. I understand why they do it, they understand where I'm coming from. It is what it is, can't fault 'em. They always put some really heavy songs on the album no matter how lame the radio singles might be, and many are still played live as well. Even the "weaker" songs are played more heavy live.

All that said, I too wish they would've kept more along the lines of TFOI or TDH but there's still some awesome gems in the later ones. Some of my favorite ATR songs came off of them (Before The Damned, Some of the People All of the Time). Those are heavy as ****!

They don't exactly fit the big, corporate package tour mold. I gave them more DIY/underground credit than that.

1349 is meh. Really generic 2nd wave imitators. Inquisition, and even Goatwhore, are way better, imo.

Goatwhore is a Fantastic live band, seen them many times. And Id hardly call a tour that they are headlining a corporate tour.

First off, Behemoth is headlining it.
Secondly, it's most definitely a corporate tour. "Indiemerchstore.com" is presenting the tour, and there's a whole slew of sponsors across the bottom of the poster.

It's pretty cool, but I'm not too into the production. A lot of metal nowadays is way overproduced.

One of my bands actually got to play a gig with a band whose drummer used to play for RoS. I think he toured with Deeds of Flesh and a couple other bands as well.

Wow Cathedral. I have that LP, tomorrow I will play it again, great choice.

Mystlyfe, Lycus reminds me of March Into the Sea, I have their demo cd lying around somewhere.

Let's have a razor blades party!!!

Graves at Sea have some of the most sickening vocals and their split with Asunder is one of my favourite metal records, just insane.

More sickness with BW
