If the Wings were built differently I would be a bit more open to Hudler re-signing, but as this roster stands right now Hudler is redundant....a poor/average skater with no physicality and not enough impactful skill to compensate for his limitations. For a team that quite possibly is the slowest in the league re-signing Hudler after Bertuzzi would an odd way to addressing one of the biggest flaws with this team.

Re-signing Hudler is really a lateral move, let him walk and make an improvement.

Enough already, he's had his chance many times over.

I am by no means going to call them the fastest but this is a big exaggeration. It might be a problem in the West where likely only Dallas, Phoenix, and LA will be remarkably slower teams come the post-season. But the slowest in the league is stretching it a bit farther. As much as everyone hates Homer's skating he is better than most teams enforcer in that department. Homer and Hudler are really the only two slow guys on the team, Bert and Franzen take a little while to crank into top gear but they move well for rather big men.

To his credit, the chemistry he's always had with Filppula is really good and it's part of how their line has played so well.

But yeah, in the end, I wouldn't mind losing some of the guys who are top six or bust, one of which is Hudler.

I think Hudler is establishing himself as a good/very good player and I think there is no way around it anymore.
