As much as I hate Ray, I loathe McGuire.

Those reasons are not reasons to keep him employed.

I should play in the NHL because I would do the best I can and I need to support my family too

Yeah, because making millions in the NHL over 16(?) seasons didn't set him up for life...

I'd be shocked if Ray's salary was ever anywhere near a million a year. Especially earlier his career.

While on with K-Sly a couple months ago, Ray made a reference to making league minimum for a while. I definitely got the impression from his own words that he never really earned much more than that.

Ray isn't a bad hockey analyst when he isn't on MSG doing a game. In fact, he used to say it how it was when Neale was RJ's right hand man. Now, he's just a Sabres puppet. He must of been told, if he agrees to the promotion, he will need to become a propaganda machine for the television side. He's said some of the most redic things so far this season.

I think Rob isn't comfortable enough in his position to feel that he can criticize the team. Who knows - they may have even expressly told him not to be negative. However, I did notice the last 2 games he was a little more honest about pointing out some of their mistakes and short-comings. I always liked Rayzor as a player, so I'm probably willing to cut him more slack than most. I think he will improve as he gets more comfortable.

That all having been said, he's barely good enough to carry Brian Duff's luggage.

It wouldn't have to be for him to make millions over a 16 year career.

His career earnings were a little over 5.6mil.
