Some of the preview stories speculate that the reason Demers isn't on the roster (or IR, but a "non-roster" player; IOW he may be suspended) is because his injury occurred while playing in Europe.
(But it was for Team Canada, not his Finnish league team.
)

doesnt make sense to suspend a player for trying to stay fit. especially in a shortened season. the players who played during the lockout will probably have a leg up imo.

They have 8 dmen at the moment. Irwin and Petrecki both may very well play tomorrow.

To clarify... 7 healthy D (plus Burns; Demers not on roster).
One point against having both in line up, and only Irwin in, it'll be really crazy environment in Calgary. Irwin has at least been in the NHL press box for a game.
I can't see Petrecki getting in there unless there's flu or food poisoning.
