Well, this is interesting. Wonder if he might focus on just baseball now or maybe go to another school instead? At this point, focusing on baseball would probably be best for him.
I think I remember reading somewhere that he was trying to switch schools.
He may not rack up the HR, but Cooper still gets a decent amount of doubles, for someone that would be hitting in the bottom third of the lineup, giving a solid averages and a fair amount of doubles would be more then acceptable.
Another thing is Cooper hits a lot of line drives, so maybe we can get a little more power out of him if he can hit those line drives a little further.
He got a bad break with his Back injury just when he was putting it together, what is the status of his health, did he need surgery?
You have to wonder if AA's strategy of sinking big money into the draft will change with the new payroll. He may be forced to go with more of a traditional approach and won't be able to draft some of the players that drop due to signability concerns. It has been his willingness to invest in these picks that has resulted in such a stacked minor league system.
