I have recession in quotes because if there was really a recession, wouldnt tickets be much cheaper? In other words, why would the NHL be exempt from a recession?

What? Everything gets more expensive in a recession.. If everything got cheaper, no one would have a problem with the recession.

A recession just means that there are two consecutive quarters of negative growth overall. Individual businesses can still thrive in a recession.

$600 for a stanley cup final seat at NJ? Wow, that's a steal of a deal.
Ask leaf and habs fans what they figure it'd cost to see a stanley cup final game in those cities,
think double what people in LA are paying.

Mod note -- merged with thread that compared 2007 Anaheim tickets to 2012 Los Angeles tickets.

I was always under the perception that if people have less money to spend, things would have to get cheaper in order for people to afford them. Its supply and demand.

Your point makes sense, i never thought of it that way.

LOL that's a pre-2008 Bruins game, notice the old-B jerseys. That was before they "re-discovered" their love of hockey...the myth of which nobody speaks.
