Turris's potential still largely outshines anything we've seen on the ice so far. Until he actually puts up the numbers Turris's ability as a top two line center will still be questioned. Next season he needs to deliver on the ice. I don't think another 25 point season is going to cut it. At least for Sens fans I don't think it should cut it. I don't think he can continue to have long stretches where he completely disappears from the scoresheet. That to me is completely unacceptable for a top six forward.

Personally, I think Turris needs to hit 20 goals and 40 assists next season. That's the type of offensive expectations I would judge him against.
I think 60 points is a bit high for an expectation, but I wouldn't be terribly disappointed if he got closer to 40-50 range. Fact is in Ottawa he is running the 2nd PP unit which is putting it nicely, terrible. The second he was on the 1st unit with the all-stars he put up a few points fast. That will stunt his totals unless help is brought in. He is playing second fiddle to Jason Spezza, that there is no doubt. But its nice to have that other guy in there with some decent offensive vision. Also for what its worth, it seems Turris is matching up frequently against other teams top lines. It all depends on how he is lined up, I think. Put him on PP with Karlsson, Spezza, Michalek, and I'd be shocked if he didn't get 65 points.

Yes he is going to have to score closer to what his on ice is indicating, thats for sure. But I don't think he has to put up Mike Ribeiro numbers right away to be effective on this team. He has already done a better job at insulating Spezza than Mike Fisher ever did, in my opinion.

B. turris did have a bad stretch in january/start of february, but i think hes done fairly well after missing training camp, and not having a consistent 2nd line LW. hes averaging over 0.5 PPG with ottawa ad put up greatpossesion numbers. hes only 22 and i wouldnt be surprised to see him put up 50pts next year

Kyle Turris is easily our 4th best forward after Spezza, Michalek and Alfie. Production or not, he is among our biggest offensive threats every game. He creates scoring chances like there's no tomorrow. His linemates don't convert a lot (except Phillips yesterday), he could have a lot more points if they were more opportunistic and if they wouldn't hit 2-3 posts per game.

B + for me

He's on a 42 pts pace with the Sens so far... 50 pts pace would be A-, 55-60 pts pace would be A, and + 60 pts would be A+

I don't think it's realistic or fair expectations...

The guy plays behind JASON SPEZZA

Actually, there's only 13 Centers with 60 points or more. At the end of the year, about 20 centers (only) will break the 60 pts mark... I really doubt the Sens will have 2 caliber 1st line centers next year, or it would mean that they are already back into Elite status, which would be really cool. Fastest rebuild ever.

I'm expecting around 50 pts from Turris next season. He will only be 23 y/o after all.

It's cool to have opinions but it's also cool to rebute them with some perspective based on facts.

I agree with you on Turris, not sure what people are seeing but even when he is not putting up pts or creating scoring chances the guy is very good defensively. I wish Spezza was as good defensively as Turris is the way he gets back & back checks all the way to behind our net if he has to. I'm still of the opinion that it was a great deal for Ottawa to acquire Turris & he will be even better next yr. Let's not also forget that scoring in the NHL is still on the decline so best to keep expectations tempered some what on all players & how many pts they will put up.

P.S. - stop putting Greening on the 4th line in your lineups, he is clearly playing like a top 6 forward.
