Thanks to Stafford, all my fantasy teams just advanced another round in the playoffs

Their defense was a lot better than it is right now and Rodgers was red hot. Not to mention the competition was a bit easier. Not anymore.

That team isn't doing jack squat unless he is 100% healthy and I wouldn't trust them with the injury he got. People were kidding themselves if they really thought he would return in three weeks.

Matt Flynn went bonkers against the Lions in 2011. I don't find it to be a coincidence that the Cowboys and Lions made him look good.

Jim Schwartz needs to be fired. Lions were handed the division on a silver platter and are way too undisciplined, way too many turnovers, can't stay out of their own way. This is an organization that is supposed to have actual standards now, they cannot stand for this.
That point really needs to be stressed

Cutler and Rodgers both suffering major injuries should have been like clinching a playoff spot for Lions

Losing that home game to Tampa was really just a sign of things to come.

When they went 15-1?

They were slightly better

Is like to attack the cowboys but man the packers are starting guys like Quarless and Boykins

It's impressive what he did no matter the opponent

EDIT: Never mind. Misread you.

GB's defense was great the year they won the SB, for what it's worth.

they had nick collins that year

he injured his neck the first game the following year and their defense hasn't been the same since

Right.

Put differently, they haven't been a Super Bowl team since their defense has declined. The only playoff game they've won since then came against Joe Webb.

The Packers aren't going anywhere. Neither are the Bears. The NFC North is terrible.

I think both would have a shot in the first round simply because they'd be at home, but after that it's all but a guaranteed loss.

Still fuming about the multiple non-calls against the Steelers on the PR TD.

Moslty, the blatent cheap shot to the punter that broke his jaw and vertebra is his neck.

Then the ass-clowns on NBC applaud it...Had it been a Steeler, Patriot, or Cowboy punter hit like that they would have raised hell.

They're the Dallas Cowboys without all the pomp and circumstance. Well, the last 20 years of the Cowboys.

But I should point out that the guy hit a 60+ field goal. Doesn't change much as it's still the Same Old Lions.
You just got on the "Fire Schwartz" bandwagon? I've been calling for that clown to get fired for a couple of years now.
With that being said, he didn't force Stafford to make awful throws or Calvin to inexplicably drop important passes. That game was completely on those two. Not the coaches (although a timeout before the Tucker FG would have been nice) and not the refs despite some awful calls against the Lions.
I've been a big Stafford backer but it's looking more and more like he's the next Romo and although CJ has been great most of the season, he has had a knack for coming up small in the big moments. The Tampa game when he dropped the ball on the last possession that led to the INT and last night. Can't really blame that on the coaches.

As sad as it sounds, the Lions could still win the division if the Bears lose to the Eagles then beat the Packers at home (there are a few other scenarios but this is the most likely one) but of course, in typical Lions fashion, the dominoes will fall their way again and they'll find a way to lose to the Vikings and in fact, i fully expect it to play out that way. Ah, the life of a Lions fan.
