Shawn Thornton vs Mike Commodore

As a Tampa fan, I thought this would end up worse for Commodore.

I thought he'd get dropped but this was still a one sided victory to say the least. Props to Commodore, he knew what the deal was.

Shawn Thornton is one of the only ones showing any heart these days (along with Lucic, Seguin, and Caron)

Commodore got rocked, but props to him for hanging in there like he did.

class act Thornton is when Commodore smashes his head into the glass you can see Thornton immediately hold up and the linesmen come in, the look on Commodore's face at the end tells the story, rough one for him

Kudos to Commodore for sticking in there, but Thornton just pounded on him the entire time.

No idea why Commodore obliged him when they're up 4-0.

Commodore is trying to play for a new contract as well. So you gotta do some things you normally might not do. The Lightning were in control of the game at that point and still won 6-1 despite being out shot 34-17 so it's not like the game was drastically changed because of the fight.

Thornton is a good guy to fight. Sure Commodore got worked, but he got to up his cred with a guy that has next to no risk of knocking you out.

Does the fact that Thornton can beat him up help him get a new contract.

Commodore went with him because he knew Thornton wanted to start something. He was getting rough with Malone earlier and in a 4-0 game, you know damn well Thornton was looking to start something. Commodore is a big veteran and is no stranger to fighting, so he chose to get it out of the way.

It's a respectable move.
