Just as an example saying "development started and ended on the PC" doesn't really mean much since engines these days are all multi platform. The concept of a true "port" is pretty rare anymore.

I hate consolization as much as the next guy but I've played some damn good ports too so it's not a deal breaker for me 99% of the time. I just enjoy their double speak
Probably one of the weirdest ports is Saints Row 2. But they flat out admitted they screwed up (I think) .

But if this was made with the PC the whole time and not just taking 360 code and slapping on stuff, I'll be way more happen than just a good port. Still happy as hell there IS NO REGEN HEALTH.

this game was awesome, I enjoyed every minute of it. Played through the first time on hard, which definitely got frustrating at points, but was overall very doable, especially because of the last man standing and the fact that you will respawn with an additional pain killer if you die enough times in the same part. I'd imagine i'd be breaking things going through it on the hardest difficulty without last man standing

Still waiting for my Ps3 to get here to play it. Really looking forward to the story and of course the multiplayer (especially after RDR).

Anyone else thinking of getting the Rockstar Pass for 30 bucks? It says it's over 35% in discounts if all the DLC were purchased separately, which means it was about 46.15 if it was a flat 35%-off rate. Also, one of the DLCs is a co-op one, which would be really nice.

Also, I bought my friend a copy on the PC, since he doesn't have a job and I would like to play with someone.

How exactly do you manage to kill all the guys on the roof when trying to save the sister pretty early in the game?

I got through the first few parts, but there is this one guy on a slightly elevated position and I just can't aim at him. No matter what I do I can't get anywhere near him. All I can do is sit in the helicopter and wait and watch until he kills me.

Beyond that, I find the lack of ammunition a bit extreme. It's not like I shoot like crazy, but I ran out of ammo quite a few times already, which makes it kind of hard to kill a whole group of people.

You can turn the laser sight off by pressing the back button, that is if you're playing on the 360. I had issue with that as well when I played through using free aim.

Ah, thanks, that helps a bit. The control at that point is quite a pain in the ass though.

I have this on PC with the settings maxed. Mother of god. The most realistic game I've ever seen, especially the cutscenes. The montage at the favela with the kid is especially good looking. To give you an idea how high res the textures are, the install is 36 gigs.

Honestly, I picked up the game with absolutely no expectations for the multiplayer, is it worth trying?

I like the multiplayer and it does have some very cool ideas on how the game works. It can just be a teeth grinder sometimes.

Bumping up an older thread but I played the originals when they came out and have replayed them several times since. Finally got around to, er, DL'ing Max Payne 3 the other day and this game is by far, one of my favorites of all time.

I'm not a huge video game player but the production value on this game; the voice acting and presentation especially, were incredible. I know some don't like the direction compared to the first two but I think it's a great evolution. The intertwining of the flashback chapters in Hoboken was a great touch, though.

My only complaint is that the game ended. I rarely ever say that about a video game (funnily enough, Red Dead Redemption was one of the last). I don't know where they'd take it but does anyone know if R plans on making Max Payne 4? I'd imagine it'd be a few years out at least.

Is it worth 20 bucks? Might pick it up today, didn't care for the original games.

Just got this the other day. Holy **** is the presentation on this game awesome. The gunplay isn't anything too special, but the presentation and polish to the game is top notch.

Yeah, I'm not sure why some lambasted it for that. The singleplayer is fantastic. I played it in one sitting I was sucked in so much. Some frustrating parts, but overall a great experience. Soundtrack is great.

Just picked this up at Future Shop for 20 bucks and all I have to say is wow! Was not expecting much from this game but had a blast from start to finish. Played it on hard which was incredibly frustrating at parts. My only real issue was that at certain points when you would crouch behind objects the character would freeze leaving you susceptible to enemies. Other than that great game, 9/10.

I've got to say, after playing this for a few days, the gunplay does get a bit repetitive, its pretty much the same formula for the entire game. I wish they would have mixed it up more.
