That's a cool story, bro.

And one time, at band camp....

Stop lumping all Leaf fans together. Cause this Leaf fan always wanted to cash out on Antropov and his Leaf career best 56 points.

Many don't because they are lost sheep lapping up the media KoolAid that everything Burke is bad. Leaf fans blame Burke for a team that didn't meet their expectations. I suggest they had expectations too high. Burke has a long term plan and he's doing just fine executing it. But you have to have patience to see it. I have patience and can see his plan in action (he has just left the stockpile phase and is now into his prospect evaluation phase). That should last until mid season next year. He'll be fine in a year or 2.

And while we are all disappointed in this seasons epic collapse, the bright side is, we should get a chance at a young potentially elite 1st line center that people have been screaming about for 45 years.

I don't see any/many of those in the draft, particularly after 5. The only player that fits the bill as a potential elite 1st liner is Yapukov, who will go first, and maybe..... maybe Grigorenko.

But only if you continue your collapse. You still have a shot at finishing 9th.

Right.

Burke had nothing to do with those high expectations by claiming a retool was all that was needed?

If the team met his expectations, why did he fire Wilson?

The Florida Panthers and Ottawa Senators are first and second in Hochey's Future Organization Rankings. All of Florida's top ten prospects were signed or drafted between 2008-2011 (8/10 for Ottawa). So their "stockpiling phase" overlaps Burke's "stockpiling phase." Yet, somehow, they're able to have a "playoff phase" during their "stockpiling phase" without a need for an "evaluation phase."

By the end of your "evaluation phase," Lupul, MacArthur, and Kessel will be UFAs. I wonder whether they'll have as much patience as you?

Unlike every other team in the league, Toronto will let their players make it to the UFA and pray for patience. Crappy that.

You mean like all the ones that Leaf fans prematurely created mid-way through this year?

At least the guy is willing to do what he can to improve his team. One thing you CANT say about Burke is that he sits on his ass.

IMO people are not going to let down the fact that he gave up 2 firsts for Kessel.....At the Time it was 2 unknown Draft picks for a Young Sniper in Kessel....

Its easy now to say wow look at Seguin and Hamilton.... I think Leafs fans are pretty happy with Kessel...

If the Isles made that move they would of traded Nino and deHann or Nino and Strome(depending on what TOR wanted as far as picks) for Kessel

And Tavares and Kessel would be deadly.....It was not a bad trade and worked out for both teams..

Or make them bump-able.

He has so much work to do it's not even funny. The prospects down on the farm are years away from making any sort if impact at the pro-level. He has a number of bad contracts he needs to dump, limited cap space at his disposal, RFA's that need to be re-signed, and an on going goaltender issue that has haunted him going all the way back to the 90's.

Best of luck...
