Nice, probably won't get any playing time, but good exposure for him for sure.

The Barons lose 1-0 to San Antonio, and with that their regular season is over. First up in the Calder Cup playoffs is the Houston Aeros, which is a good first round opponent for them. These teams know each other fairly well.

I just don't see him becoming big and mean. could be utilized as a checker but there are better options out there. We'll see I guess.
I do agree he is weak and soft, he needs to get sent to Gary Roberts camp, he can skate like the wind, just mainly needs to strengthen up, the hockey sense is definitely there.

Question. If OOKC happens to lose in 1st rnd by chance, do all those that want Todd Nelson promoted still? Or do you still consider him on the year as a whole?

Expectations are they go quite deep in the PO's this year.

Paajarvi scored 34 points as a 19-20 year old rookie. Terrific wheels, projectable frame, good defensive game with some untapped offensive ability. At worst he will end up being an excellent defensive forward who can chip in 30 points a season. Those guys do not grow on trees.

doesnt matter what fans want but I believe the management wanted Nelson to get a couple playoffs under his belt before making the jump to NHL.
I think they'll extend Renney for one more year regardless how deep Nelson takes the Barons.

A Calder cup IMO should get him the NHL job right away.

Not a chance he gets the Calder cup with Norfolk playing the way they are. Odder things have certainly happened, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Seriously? If there is no chance then I suppose you'd be happy to take my money at, say, 50 to 1?

figure of speech
Of course there is a chance, but it's not a favourable one by any means.

well thats the thing... if Nelson can pull it off he'll deserve to be in NHL.

Honestly I don't see Norfolk making it out of the East.

Hey guys. Couple questions.

1) if all the top seeds win in the west, does it re-seed like the NHL?

Im curious because if the Barons and Abbotsford both make round 2 i'd like to catch some games.

If seeds 1,2,3,4 win in the west, we'd play the Heat in round 2 right?

2) Why is the AHL playoff format such that the top seed plays the first two on the road. Seems disadvantageous.

Thanks
