One of the reasons I wanted Schultz is because he belonged to the Ducks.
For a team we lost the cup to, there is zero rivalry between us.
This would have reignited some old flames.
For me personally, I took away from that series a deep hatred for Pronger, but not the Ducks. The fact is they were the better team. It's not like the Leafs series where we should have won at least some of them.

What killed us was the league's decision to let the Ducks enjoy a delay long enough for them to heal before playing us and at the same time long enough for us to get rusty, negating the advantage one team is supposed to get when it dispatches its earlier opponents faster than its rival before making it to the finals. Plus the refs let go a lot of stuff that should have been called.

and they were a better team. i remember watching those games and we were going uphill every game. even the game we won.
Thats how the AHL rolls. Heavy friday and weekend schedules.
It's for attendance reasons. Small cities tend to draw better on the weekends. We actually have an awesome schedule this year with the majority of our home games on Fri-Sat nights. Usually that's when we get the biggest crowds.
