Bills sign Mark Anderson

Bills have just signed Mark Anderson, 4 years/27.5 million with 8 million guaranteed... This DL will be very scary, just what we need to try to dethrone Brady

This guy has 2 10+ sack seasons and is only our 4th best DL

Buffers up a pretty solid Bills D-line

Soooo Left Tackle will definitely be the 1st round draft pick in April ... assuming Buddy doesn't think it's time to burn another 1st on an RB.

WR, CB and LB are also possibilities.

This might go down as one of the worst defensive FA signings of 2012. Love Anderson, but paying that much for a situational pass rusher is just absurd.

Can't see them taking a WR, but yeah CB and LB still possible.

6.75 cap hit for a guy with multiple double digit sack seasons is fair value. He is 29 years old and the best thing is he will never face double coverage. If this guy was so bad then why did Tennessee, Baltimore, Jax and your Patriots try to sign him?

This is a great addition to the Bills D, and you are probably the only person who dislikes it. And this guy isn't signed to be the #1 pass rusher, like I said he is either the 4th or 5th best DL on the team, behind 3 all-pro caliber DLinemen

As for our 1st rounder, I want Michael Floyd. OT is not a glaring need, we can draft a solid starter in round 2, and I don't see Reiff or Decastro worthy of a top 10 pick.

You're trying to put words in my mouth, now? Where the hell did I say that he was ''so bad''? Quite the contrary since I said I loved the dude. Would have been a solid signing, but the Bills paid him way, way more than I thought they would.

Considering I watched all 23 Patriots games (pre., reg., playoffs), I have a pretty good idea of what type of player he was last year. He might have recorded double-digit sacks, but like I said before, a handful of those were in garbage time. He was a solid role player that really only had one standout game all season (vs. Denver in December).

Actually, I love it since the Bills just threw a ton of money down the drain.

Seriously, don't be shocked when he isn't able to live up to that contract.

The Bills aren't really counting on Anderson to be anything more than that either. He'll likely serve as the pass-rushing portion of a DE platoon between him and Kelsay, who's a good run defender. It's not as if Buffalo is expecting Anderson to be some sort of savior. He's an extra pass rusher who should be pretty effective with the Williamses and Dareus occupying most of the opposition's attention.

Is $8 million in guarantees really a "ton of money" in the NFL nowadays?

Plus the Bills still have money they can spend. This doesn't preclude them from adding a LT, #2 WR, or a #2 CB if they wanted to, although I think Nix wants to build more through the draft.

Only 8 million in guaranteed money means they can always cut him a couple years down the road if his base gets to be too much.

What did the guy see in just a few hours that convinced a sign so fast?

Sorry but if anything this guy will OVERACHIEVE. With Dareus and Williams getting a lot of attention.

Whats the word on Bell? If he don't resign they will need someone to fill his void.

Need a big game WR.

Not sure if they need another LB, maybe incase whats his name gets hurt.

CB is a big need but I haven't given up on A. Will yet.

First and foremost, a nice monetary offer. The idea of getting to play on a line like Buffalo has couldn't have hurt, either.

No need to. Williams is the Bills' best corner. But otherwise, they're severely lacking at the position. Luckily, the better your pass rush is, the less your CBs will be picked apart.

Williams was a teammate of his in Houston, probably didn't hurt. Yet it took williams himself an eternity!

Signing Bryan Scott makes things interesting. think he could move up to a full time LB? He is their best safety. If they do make him a LB the safety spot severely weakens.

What is the length of Scott's contract?

Still need to sign Urbik, Rhinehart and Pears long term.

Scott is not better than Wilson or Byrd. But you need depth, and he provides it.

Pears was re-signed before FA started. Rinehart and Urbik were both tendered (RFA) so they wont go anywhere.

Still haven't heard about the details of the deal.

How many is Pears signed for? I knew they were all RFA's and likely to be back regardless but in the long term they need contracts.

Is Levitre's contract close to an end? Definitely need that guy locked up. Wood is meh. Bell is okay, wouldn't mind a return but I think you could find better in the draft.

If only they could trade up for Blackmon now....

2006 and 2011 ,, Between those seasons he was nothing

Anderson has 1 move ,, If it doesn't work he is worthless

Bears dumped him after years of hoping he would repeat 2006... Nice guy and I am sure he will play solid but dont expect consistancy from Anderson

He will have great games ,, Then be MIA for stretches ,, Then play Poorly only to play great again

Not saying its a bad signing ,, But dont expect Anderson to be 2006/11 player while ignoring his other years of struggle

He is what he is and that is inconsistant

There were erroneous reports listed, as it has came to light showing his contract is 4 years for 19.75 million , under a 5 mil cap hit

Still overpaid?

From here, I think the Bills should continue to improve their front 7 by drafting Kuechly in the first round.

Yup.

The dude still has yet to string together two consecutive good seasons. Good luck with that.

I believe they can release him after this year with virtually no worries, so I guess if he only has this one good year, we ship him out. If he does get it together, the Bills have him under contract. Win/Win

Good luck with that! At least you can still say it's cold in Buffalo, and be correct(well, except this year, haha)

If Anderson plays as a situational pass rusher, he will excel. If you want him to be an every down DE, he will fail. Simple as that.
