After giving up an early touchdown, Oregon smoked an SEC team 59-7 the rest of the way. tOSU allowed 30 something against an unranked PAC-12 team. Winning is important, but it's also how//who you win against. You think Michigan should move up for beating Akron by 4?

Tennessee has been horrible for years, who cares if they are in the SEC. But I agree that Oregon should be ranked ahead of tOSU.

You dropped Stanford for winning...and dropped OK State 3 spots after winning by 8 TDs. Just sayin.

Arguing about rankings is stupid.

Stanford beat Army and San Jose St. , Ohio St. has played Buffalo, San Diego St. and Cal. We can say Oregon beat an SEC team but Tenn is not a good SEC team.

Let's wait until these teams play some opponents with a pulse before we start ranking them.

he will certainly play in the league, and will probably be a first round pick.

Will he succeed?? IDK. He has an undeniable feel for the game and good athleticism, but he is short and doesn't have an ideal arm.

The problem with short qb's is that they have to do so much right to have success. I could see Johnny being another McCoy.

a player I think he is like is actually Tony Romo. Not ideal size or arm strength, but has a good feel for the game, a good feel for the pocket, and is very effective on the move as a passer. I don't see him having the same problems making untimely mistakes as Tony.

Yep.

Polls before October are beyond stupid. Hell, sometimes even beyond October.

In 2007, USF was ranked #2 in the country with 11 first place votes at one time. That alone should invalidate these ridiculous polls.

Oh ****, didn't realize I had Stanford and Louisville swapped. That's a mistake on my part. As for OK State, they've played Miss St, UT-San Antonio, and Lamar. Self explanatory.

2007 was just a ridiculous year, it felt like half of the top 10 lost every week.

The AP poll is pointless. It's not even used in the BCS formula (I think it was in 2007 though). It really doesn't mean anything that any other poll, or even your own personal rankings. I don't even know why it's existence is acknowledged in regards to in-game graphics and such.

AP does give a national champ that could, in theory, be different from the BCS champ. If the AP didn't exist, Michigan wouldn't have won a national title in the last 60 some years.

Yeah, but they're not acknowledged as *the* national champion in the BCS era.

This is what happened with USC in 2003. LSU won the BCS title and USC was awarded the AP.

USF was playing great up to that point and had some good wins under their belt then. There were tons of upsets at the top in 2007, so using it for your argument is "beyond stupid."
