im not sure how anyone can make that distinction since weve literally never seen the guy be given a chance to do that. when he plays at E.S. it's usually in a shutdown mode or a grind mode. He's not in front of the net on point shots, he's usually playig a little higher in case the shot gets deflected so he can get back into the play.
Im not a brian boyle fan at all, i think he's a damn good 4th liner, but is being given WAY too many minutes for what he brings, with that said, i think it's worth a shot. His sheer size alone, and his ability to play the boards, and win *some* faceoffs (we've killed our PP with an inability to win PP Faceoffs) would be helpful on the PP, and if he can regularly give us some tips in front, that would be great too.
We have used him from time to time on the PP this season on our second unit, he has a bad tendency to tip pucks wide. He also isn't very good with rebounds(that has been shown numerous times this season).
I ask the question again, why don't we use Rupp the way we use Boyle on the PP? He was very effective when Pitt used him in that role.
I hope Richards now open finally his talent bag and do some points what we need!!
Nice OT win,but regular time win is much better.
OT:When i can vote the poll? Need more post or what?
I believe you need to be registered for two months to vote. Maybe it's three- I'm not sure.

The Rangers are 4-0-1 in the games Callahan has missed since getting hurt 2 weeks ago. They are 0-3 in the games he has played in since the injury. Very similar to Messier in 92 against Pitt. He suffered a rib injury against NJ. He played game 1 in pain. The Rangers lost. Messier couldn't play in games 2 and 3. The Rangers won. Graves gets suspended for the rest of the series. Messier returns and the Rangers lose 3 straight. Callahan shouldn't return unless he is 110%.
also note that the 3 losses with cally playing hurt are also the 3 games we played without dubi
That was a good win, sets the tone for the rest of the home stand. I was glad it didn't get to a shootout, otherwise I honestly think we would've lost that one.
Some Isles fan sitting in the same section as me was tossed during the 2nd intermission.
I think that having Callahan infront of the net is better than Boyle. Have Boyle on the second unit, sure, but I want Cally tipping shots in from Richards at the point and putting home rebounds from Gaborik shots.
the real issue here is the Rangers don't have an Adam Graves to plant in front of the net. Im not sure we have anyone in that mold coming up in the system.
Brandon Dubinsky would be the PERFECT guy to put there, if his head wasn't up his ass thinking he's wayne gretzky at the half wall instead of being Holmstrom getting that big body in front and putting home some rebounds.
Ive been thinking about that as well. Dubi has been struggling and we all know it. For the rest of the season he needs to find his niche that he can be some what successful at and focus on getting his real game back in the off season.
