Again, since you are having trouble following the chain of events...

->Rinne is signed until 37, is it that different
-->your blurb on cap and contracts making Lu not worth giving up any assets for
--->Rinne in a few years (Lu's age) will be worth nothing?
If you cant answer, there is no harm in admiting so. Really dont understand why you are comparing apples and oranges. Rinne is not on the market, Lou is. Rinne is under contract until 37, Lou 42. It may be hard to understand, but thereare differences in the two players. Lou said he wont play his contract out? I see, so when a GM takes a proposed trade involving Lou, and when asked about his contract paying him until 42, no need to be concerned, Lou said he wont play it through. Hilarious!

I absolutely agree with this. If we aren't talking about value right now, then I agree with all of this.

I brought back the comparison because the conversation shifted back to Lu being a cap dump. Despite that one of the reasons for moving him is the cap, we don't have an urgent need to move him. He is an elite player with a below market cap hit and at least, at least, a few years of elite play left before the beginning of a decline.
Well putting value aside, THANK YOU!

We are talking about a multi-million dollar organization that employs capologists for scenarios like this. These people are not dumb! Im not worried about it so maybe you shouldnt be either. Any arguments based on what may or may not happen (e.g. where the cap will be) should not have any basis on supposed value. It kills me how people from other fan bases continually bring up money and distractions just to validate their argument that Luongo has poor value. Everyone's entitled to there opinions, i understand this, but that last several pages have been spent on baseless hypothetical circumstance
You must not know much about hockey or the NHL to make that comment. You didnt realize there is a cap in place, likely in the new CBA as well, and all teams have to keep cap space, salary, and length in mind in every transaction? Also there have been discusion in the media, and the business board about the NHL negotiations for the new CBA and where the cap may likely end up. You should really read up on it.

3rd time you've dodged it and had a nonsensical response. I'm done here.

Islanders fans seem pretty happy with their goaltending prospects, I don't think they'd go for it.
