I actually agree with alot of what you say...but there are also things that analytics don't quantify.
Like the results that the amount of hits Larsson, Looch, Kass and Maroon bring to a game
Watching the Oil last year compared to this year the eye test tells all. Watching teams in the 3rd period against us last year looking they haven't broke a sweat. That needs to be factored in also
I will not disagree with you that analytics does not quantify everything. But it also doesnt quantify things such as great positioning, which is a big factor why we dont sweat in 3rd periods with a lead
Only a fool would say hits dont impact a game at all. Watch any physical game and you can see the mood of a game shift when things get rough. Players get that boost from those big hits. But these big hits happen what? twice every game if that.
And id say those guys you listed hit, but more importantly do other things well. Weve had big hitters here before but none had any puck skills. Id argue those exampels you have are great/good players on their own, hittin gis just a cherry on top. Hitting is not the core of their good play but a nice bonus.
