I'm sure the Kings were aware that Ballard came back from a concussion and I don't remember him being roughed up or targeted. Henrik, aside from that Brown hit, has also had it relatively easy. Ditto with Kesler and our other talented guys.
The only player who might do something is Mike Richards. The others will play him clean. But Mike Richards, is dirty and could target his head.
Kings will be looking to hit Danny, if he plays I sure hope his head is a 100%, this might be a game were u put Kassian shot gun to the Sedins and tell Kassian to protect them.
The Kings said yesterday they are going to repeatedly hit him. This is stupid letting him play.
Why waste a MVP player at a remote chance to win, when they can fully heal, get strong, shore up the shortcomings and make a run next year focused and determined?
Except players never think like that. If a player did, I would be very disappointed.
Wrong. Every kings player will try their best to go out of their way to punish Daniel.
If that's the case, then having him in the lineup is already a success. Let them stray from their gameplan and get out of position to try to hit him and watch the goals pile up.
Waiting for Burrows, Daniel, Kesler, Bieksa nagging injuries to come out.
Kesler needs to shut it the **** down for a few months and rehab the **** out of his hip, which is totally effed right now obviously.
Daniel needs to have an easy offseason and avoid relapsing with the concussion.
Agreed on Kesler.
And Kesler while he's rehabbing needs to go back to the basics.
He's shown in the past what an offseason can do. But now that's it's a long one, he needs to rest, then when he resumes training, he needs to focus on how to be a better team player and not the selfish shot machine he's become.
As for Daniel, it's not like there's any contact in the offseason. Unless he and Henrik have a pillow fight on their bunk bed, of course. He seemed completely fine in the 2 games he played, so there's no reason Daniel should do anything differently during the offseason, IMO.
Not sure you can squarely peg this on Kesler's injury (sub-par performance) - the Nashville series was an aberration from his playoff goal scoring. He's never delivered his offensive skills outside of those 6 games. He has 5 in those 6, and then 5 in the remaining 48 now?
Outside of Kesler's production he has looked like a shadow of his former self all season. No good first stride, no top end speed and can't buy space for his fairly mediocre shot.
Without wheels Kesler's game is pretty average and he needs to get back up to speed this offseason.
