This is my first post at Hf boards.
Denmark played Italy in Rødovre (suburb of Copenhagen). After very good first period performance from the danes it seemed they became lax and sloppy especially in the second period. It gave Italy the chance to work their way back into the match.
NB: I have only the assists for the danish players.
Denmark – Italy 4-2 (3-1,0-1,1-0)
1-0 Jesper Jensen (Frans Nielsen, Philip Larsen) PP
2-0 Mads Bødker (Nichlas Hardt, Frans Nielsen)
2-1 Giulio Scandella
3-1 Nichlas Hardt (Lars Eller, Frans Nielsen)
3-2 Robert Sirianni
4-2 Frans Nielsen (Nichlas Hardt, Lars Eller)
Shots on goal: 36-15
So 1G/3A/4P for Frans Nielsen of the New York Islanders who simply ruled the ice on the 1. line center position (with Hardt and Eller on the wings). So it seems we have at least one top-quality line.
Nichlas Hardt shows again that he is by far the best danish forward not playing in North America. This year he won the goldhelmet for Jokerit, SM liiga (most points in regular season) and the bronze medal in the playoffs. It's simply a mystery that this hardworking and very aggressive player is not playing in NHL. He has said in interviews that he lenjoys taking the battles with the defenders before the opposing teams goalie. So what's not to like? (maybe a future danish Holmström in the NHL?).
Here is a link to you tube where he tackles a norwegian defender - "Hardt".

Eller seems misplaced on the wing as he has been with the Montreal Canadians. I would move Jannik Hansen up from the second to the first line and put Lars Eller on 2. line center. Maybe he can do a 4 goal magic again?
Jannik Hansen was not in gear this match, but just arriving from Vancouver after the playoff loss it's understandable he needs some time. Hope it all falls into place for the WC.
The Italians chance in the world championship seems to be lost of hard work, and an opposing team that underestimates them. Their goalkeeper - Daniel Belissimo - have had a very good year for Bofors in Allsvenskan and can he keep that form Italy has a chance in nervous tight games.
