Draft Class - 2013/2014/2015

How would you guys rate each draft (I know it's hard this early), but how would you rate the talent in each draft? Top heavy? Deep? Weak after round 1?

Just wondering what the general consensus is.

Cheers

Every draft looks better in advance there it does in reality. Case it point, the 2012 draft, still a decent draft, but it was thought to be one of the best since 2003, it probably will not be.

The 2013 draft looks like it has a light of high end talent, more so than most years but who knows. the 2014 and 2015 drafts have some huge name guys as well (Ekblad and S. Reinhart in 2014, guys like McDavid in 2015).

2013 is weak, 2014 is going to be the best draft since 2003

I think 2012 was still a solid year, but there wasn't as much high-end depth as strong classes of the last decade or so like 2003/2008.

2013 looks quite good as of now, but like any other year there will be guys that regress leaving the first round looking less deep than expected.

2014 isn't strong for the Q, and while Ekblad and Reinhart are solid talents, they are not generational by any stretch. I would say Mackinnon and Jones > Ekblad and Reinhart. I would not have said that about the last two drafts. (11 v 12 & 12 v 13)

2015 is too early to tell, even if you were to ask a CHL scout, etc.

2015 is too early to tell, but so far some of its players are looking really decent.

IMO right now Im not a fan of 2014, but so much can change.

It's early to tell for 2015 for sure, beyond one or two guys like McDavid. I like 2013 and I like a few of the 2014's, not sure about the depth in 2014 though.

To me, 2013 looks quite similar to 2012, except with a slightly more talented top 5.

I'm really high on Jones (Better than MacKinnon to me) but I think you're selling them (And especially Ekblad) short. You can't call anyone generational before they play professionally but if anyone has the potential to be a generational talent it's Ekblad. He's farther along then Jones was at the same age, incredible skills, incredible hockey sense.

This draft is supposed to be extremely deep, atleast for the first round. Teams are trying to be cautious with their first rounders as far as I can tell from listening to other people on this board. Teams like Columbus will have an incredible draft with 3 picks in the first round.
