Washington is not getting past Pittsburgh at best. Nashville in the finals seems plausible and cool though

At my last check, 13 teams are still alive.

I think they CAN beat Pittsburgh, I just don't think they WILL beat Pittsburgh.

It's just a prediction that the OP made.

Honestly, I could see Washington defeating Pittsburgh, kind of like St. Louis beating Chicago last year. Finally slaying the demon in a close series they probably didn't deserve to win.

Let's just have threads for all potential SCF matchups. I'll start the "Montreal - Edmonton in the finals" thread.

Washington is having a tough enough time beating Toronto, it's tied even.

I would bet my life savings on Washington NOT advancing to the Stanley Cup Finals. The Caps have to play Pittsburgh, a team full of winners. Ovechkin is one of the all-time greats in goal scoring, but he hasn't proven that he can lead any type of team to a Championship. This is not going to change at 31.

If the Caps defeat the Leafs, they will fall to the Pens in 6 or less.

My gut tells me its Caps V Ducks in the finals.

Although Nashville did great against the hawks, that doesnt mean they will steam role over everyone else. Certain teams match up well/poorly.

Ducks and Pens.

Washington will lose to a superior Pittsburgh team again, Nashville will cool off. Edmonton and San Jose aren't strong enough, nor are Montreal or NYR.

Washington beating Pittsburgh depends on who is in net IMO. If it's Fleury, Washington wins. If it's Murray, I'd say the chances are 50/50
