For the surprise team, I'll go with the Devils for fun

Gonna say Carolina is one of the best teams in the Metro next season.

Chicago starts horribly and fires Quenneville. Chicago hires a terrible replacement and ends up doing horribly next season and is the second worst team in the Central.

Vegas makes the playoffs in a wild card spot.

EDIT: Dallas goes first place in their division with all the big changes their doing.

I think it may be Vegas. I mean, under the right system with a good goalie in Fleury, they may be able to challenge for a wild card spot. However, it's equally possibly that they end up finishing dead last

When I look back, I'm not sure Bylsma was an upgrade over Ted Nolan, that's how bad it was. At least Nolan tried to win games and let the players do what they're good at.

Oil fan saying Buffalo.

Generational talent gonna generationalize.

Eichel's gonna really break out next season and compete with McD for the Hart Ross.

This is going to be his team.

Not trying to stir up crap, but I could see the Leafs having a backwards-rebound type of season. A lot went right for them last year, and it's hard to have seasons like that back-to-back.

Considering we are apparently a lottery team now from losing absolutely nothing and regaining Fabbri plus potential contributions from Dunn, Thompson, Schmaltz, I would nominate St. Louis.

Also Winnipeg.

Chayka has openly spoke about getting a goalie and there are several available.

Plus with the new ownership and the team turning to the page on the old guard (Doan, Smith, Hanzal...) there is talk about adding talent (Stepan? Dumba? )

If either Strome or Keller con tribute as rookies the team should see improvement. Domi, Dvorak, Perlini will all be better.

The top 4 D is solid including OEL who is one of the best in the game and Chychrun who has very high upside.

Lots to be excited about.
