noahhabib's Mock Draft (top 10)

1. Columbus - Nail Yakupov

Columbus needs star offense, and Yakupov is their guy. This guy will be a star later on, and he is a lock to go number one.

2. Edmonton - Mikhail Grigorenko
The reason I put Grigs here is, unless Edmonton trades down, they will likely take a forward, most likely Grigorenko.
Oiler fans, just imagine...
Hall-RNH-Eberle
MPS-Grigorenko-XXXX

3. Montreal - Alex Galchenyuk
Yes, he has been out all year with an ACL injury (Markov 2.0?), but the thought of landing that no. 1 centre that has eluded them for a long time is too much to pass up. His combination of skill, passion, desire, work ethic, and defensive play make him the complete package.

4. Minnesota - Mathew Dumba
With loads of forward talent on the way, the Wild could start to polish up their D, and what better place to start than Dumba, complete with offensive yalent, strength, and defensive awareness - great pick.

5. Toronto - Filip Forsberg
Forsberg will provide quality help on the wings for many years to come. Not afraid to do the dirty work, but also knows how to finish, he is a true Power Forward. Not to worry, Leaf fans, help is on the way.

6. NY Islanders - Ryan Murray
With the forwards set - Tavares, Strome, etc... it is time to start to work on defense. Murray, yes he isn't as offensively talented as other blueliners, but he is better defensively.

7. Carolina - Radek Faksa
On the Canes' roster, you have Eric Staal at centre, but then you have a huge drop-off. Faksa is a great combinasion of offense, strength, power, and defenseive skill to nicely compliment their top 6, and provide 2 legit scoring lines for many years to come.

8. Anaheim - Jacob Trouba
Already with a great group of forwards, it is time to solidify their D. Trouba is big, can hit, is offensively gifted, and strong defensively, and overall, a great pick for the Ducks... (Fowler-Trouba, for other team's forwards)

9. Tampa Bay - Sebastian Collberg
Talent on the wings is where Tampa Bay is lacking. Collberg will help fix this with his elite offensive skill, and talent.

10. Winnipeg - Griffin Reinhart
Towering blueliner with huge upside, tough to pass up here if you are the Jets.

Perfect description for our pick. Why people think we'd draft Rielly or Ceci is beyond me.

Fowler-Trouba
Sbisa-Beauchemin
Schultz-Vatanen

Looks much better than if you replaced Trouba with Rielly and then you've got two pairings of double PMDs.

Oh and on edmonton, that ??? RWer is Hemsky. Don't you know he's a top 15 winger.

Wouldn't be surprised at all to see the oilers take Murray at 2

DJ, if Schultz goes elsewhere, does that change your opinion on Rielly and/or Ceci?

Uh no. They don't NEED defence, but the way Murray played in the playoffs and how Stu loves him so much. I can't see the oilers taking a forward in this draft. Murray will be an oiler on draft day. You heard it here first

I sure hope so because of you oilers taking Grigorenko it throws a monkey wrench in Toronto's plan to get Galenchyuk.

Probably not too much. I still think our biggest issue is lack of shut-down physical D. I've wanted the Ducks to trade one of Vatanen or Schultz for a while now. It's a surplus of OFD that we don't need. Adding Rielly in when Trouba and Reinhart will be perfectly satisfactory offensive contributors just adds to that surplus and makes our defense softer.

Trouba is better than Ceci, but he's a perfectly good 2-way d-man who can play physical too. Anaheim likely will get Trouba though. Ceci wouldn't be a bad pick at all though if they are picking a little later.

Agreed that they don't need Rielly though.

Tampa needs to pick a defence with this pick.

Too many people see Collberg in the top 10. As long as he goes before the Ducks I'm cool with it. But I just can't see it.

If Murray falls to 6 the lightning will try to move up to grab him, they need D bad and I'm not convinced with anyone after Dumba/Murray. Most mocks have them going top 5 and SY won't give up what it would cost to get into the top 5, but if one or both fall then it will be easier to move up and grab one.

Stupid Wild, way to go from drafting 4th overall to 7th with pointless wins. God this team can't even tank right.
